Come on Sid...we'll help you log on if you want ...that Shirley / Barbara / Shirley trilogy you treated us to was brilliant...especially when Hammie got "shushed" by everyone just for talking through it I'm now only buying records which include some kind of telephone ring in them. -

Sold - Maxine Womack- One Step At A Time / What'cha Gon-Na Do (Tack)
Scotters replied to Scotters's topic in Record Sales
First offer received of £300 thank you very much. -
SOLD thank you, this rare funk 45 as not seen many come up and unsure of it's appeal out there?! I think it's got something both sides. One of those few that doesn't appear to have made it to you tube etc as yet, so that alone makes it "interesting" I think. Please listen to sound from actual record both sides. Maxine Womack - One step at a time.mp3 Maxine Womack - What'cha gon-na do.mp3 Visually I'd grade VG+, nice an glossy but the "One step side" has two scratches approx 15mm long side by side you can see on photo below and hear on each rotation. The "What'cha" side is cleaner, just a few light marks and record has a slight warp which causes needle to wobble a bit (but not jump, even when weight reduced to say 1.5g) I'll leave this unlocked for any insights on the record, label or artist etc...always keen to learn. Cheers, Steve

Received the two new prev unreleased 45s from Secret Stash thru the door today and both excellent I think, as per the front page news thread! Still loving the Vic Pitts and the Cheaters LP they also pulled together a couple of months ago. I was kindly given a great new LP last Sunday...a brilliant UK soul singer which I've really enjoyed all week... Myles Sanko - Forever Dreaming. Worth a look and listen I think. Thanks again Brian

Brilliant, thanks...and if this "is just a sampler of many great tracks to follow.." then we really are lucky and something to look forward to. The separate thread on here about 60's newies....I personally hope there's years/decades of lots more largely unheard finds to be enjoyed yet.

How good is that prev unreleased Dee Dee Warwick track Brian?! Really enjoyed hearing all those and also the superb 45's, LP tracks and CD only things that Sid kindly brought along to share. Hopefully he'll post those up in the next week or so as I was half chatting with the Spanish couple at the time, but also only half listening to what they were saying . Just so good. Turntable Spindle Adapters - Aluminium Brand New Top Quality
Scotters replied to Raym's topic in General Sales & Wants
Thanks Ray...been meaning to replace Technics ones for ages and these are top quality. Good to be able to drop a 45 on from a distance and watch it find its way perfectly centre of the deck. Oh and hopefully won't repeat recent cracked record incident -
Personally still catching up on the 1000s of records found and played, danced to by others in the 60's and '70's...still seems never ending to me, always will I think with my goldfish memory and then there's all the LP only things, recent releases of prev unreleased stuff still coming through + quality new soul artists and bands out there. Happy days and nights for sure.
-
Yes absolutely and any new release on Kent/Ace or other such quality label is a special day I think. There's more than enough of us hungrier by the day for any "newie", especially 60's unreleased or not well known. Please keep up the hard work for our benefit.
-
Can't give a single fave but lots listed would be up there for me...I would also have to include Bobby Taylor - Taylor made soul, so many great tracks but especially "Don't be afraid".
