  1. The Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings download release from January will be nice on the limited 45 for RSD.."Little boys with shiny toys"
  2. Last one from me today has been available on Download only since January and now on a limited 45 for Record Store Day, but guessing it will be on her next album...or maybe some left over from RSD hopefully. The ever wonderful Sharon Jones and the Dap-kings "Little boys with shiny toys". Is she talking about us and cd's?!
  3. Seeing as Mal has included recent release on the more jazz side of things, this whole cd kept me awake in the car lots last year with some great artists featured like Pete Simpson, N'Dea Davenport, Diviniti. Here's a taster of one of the tracks, great summer sound I think! generally love anything Kyoto Jazz Massive are involved with
  4. Hi Mal. I'm certainly partial to a dash of more jazz oriented sounds when the mood takes me and Ukvibe website is a brilliant for dipping in and out of what's new on that side with some great articles and interviews. Cheers for posting, now I know you'll have some decent new soul to add in here too
  5. ...thanks Roger "I don't do the flood thing" Williams This is killing my iPad each time I try and open the thread
  6. A good few months old now I know but this Rhonda Thomas track and her whole album is class soul...
  7. Looking forward to the new SouLutions release "All your love" expected this May and already available pre-order from their website and audio clip on there too, sounds good to me, one I'll be dancing to somewhere soon. Album to follow soon too https://m.soulutionsofficial.co.uk/Music-and-Videos.html
  8. Was it "You'd better believe"? Great albums, superb voice and pretty sure I have this somewhere from new back in 1994/5...so a proper "oldie" now and looks quite rare when I have a quick search on the web for any.
  9. Just thinking back to last year and being more interested in previously unreleased tracks, or at least anything that hasn't previously made it to vinyl before, is anyone out there aware of anything like a challenger to the absolutely superb Marvin Gaye 12 from last years RSD? That was and remains such a treat. Cheers, Steve
  10. Looking forward to this imminent album release, Aaron Parnell Brown, after he initially made available this track and couple others on download for a limited time late last year...not one for the dancers mind!
  11. Not wanting to cram this thread with you tube clips and such, one recent album I keep playing over and over since Christmas is Shirma Rouse "Shout it out loud" and the brilliant L-O-V-E track amongst others. Not on vinyl yet as far as I know but then so what
  12. Good call and that whole Booker T album from last year or two is superb. Hopefully another project like that soon blending legendary artists with new talent.
  13. Yes that can be a problem with new releases when a track gets popular, but great for the artists I guess. So long as they then make some decent obscure recordings for us to dig deeper into, off air so to speak.
  14. Strewth slow down you two...my bloody ipad keeps crashing here and I'm still supposed to be working!
  15. By the way, I've got a touch of OCD and I love music in all formats, but let's not get into an OVO / OCDO / OMP3O / C3PO debate...at least not until the new Star Wars film is out
  16. Brilliant. Thanks Roger...I really like that and not heard it before. That's a great start to the weekend
  17. Great couple of posts thanks and yes we're not alone but just case of trying to find a good night where we can hear and dance to a bit if everything. I'm more than lucky to have a choice of most things locally, including a night or two where brand new releases get played alongside the classics here and there. Or just go to and out and out Northern night if we fancy it. So yes as well as new vinyl releases on the other running thread, I'm looking forward to seeing what gets posted on this thread for new cd and MP3 only things...and I'm a sucker for great music videos too but generally bored with what I see on TV or when I see what my own kids have stumbled across on various devices around the house
  18. Phew thanks for your reply as I was wondering what on earth I'd done for a moment, on a largely rare soul site
  19. ...The Suffers do 100mph too
  20. I know I'm not alone on here being hungry for more new releases as they appear, not just vinyl only stuff as there's a lot of good things recent and imminent cd / mp3 only... but hard to keep up when also looking back 50 years or so all the time being addicted to vinyl! The "new vinyl releases" thread is still running of course and has been brilliant, but thought I'd give this a go for a general new soul release thread covering CD and MP3 only things with occasional cool official new videos thrown in. With many new tracks are launched and available on MP3 months before then later being available on vinyl (eg the great new Soul Junction 45 by The Dynamic Sounds Orchestra), I'd love to hear more if anyone wants to use this thread to share them. I'll start with official vid and great track from imminent new Saun & Starr album due out from Daptone records this May and also what I think is equally brilliant soul and a great vid by relatively new Houston outfit that Brian Goucher out me onto earlier this year..The Suffers and their superb 4 track ep "Make some room". Cheers and thanks for the ride so far, Steve
  21. Good shout! Got the 45 through the post yesterday and real solid both sides...though wouldn't mind hearing them perform some more mid to low tempo tracks hopefully too in the near future. Actually looks like they're working on an album as a further track and quality deeper soul "mean to me" is on you tube from a recent live performance. What a voice and real tight band. One to watch, like "The Suffers" recent ep which is truly ace too (though sadly not on vinyl...yet!) Check this vid and title track from the ep though and let's get a new digital only release thread going hey?! Cheers, Steve
  22. Sorry Henning, I replied to your pm at the time with my email but didn't hear anything more, so assumed you'd decided to keep yours anyway. I'll double check my emails as I have had some problems with receiving some mail recently. Cheers, Steve
  23. Have this on the LP but wouldn't mind the 45 if anyone selling please? Many thanks, Steve

  24. Thanks Nev..I love both sides equally but that's a good alternative version too yes, good call.
  25. Thanks for interest and all those who've already sent messages, but sorry not until I can find a better condition one myself, if one exists.
