New releases Autumn / Winter '15..Warmers and Chillers
Scotters replied to Scotters's topic in All About the SOUL
Here's how you can get behind the debut album from The Suffers for anyone interested. The four track disc from last year was superb and I think one of the best ep's this last year or so, hopefully the album will contain some equally great soul. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thesuffers/the-suffers-are-releasing-their-debut-album -
New releases Autumn / Winter '15..Warmers and Chillers
Scotters posted a topic in All About the SOUL
Thanks so much to all contributors on the last 6 months "new releases" thread! ..what a fantastic year it's been for brand new soul and previously unreleased recordings, all different styles and tempos. With so much still to look forward to (and me no longer able to access the last thread with my old Mac or iPad for some reason) I thought I'd start another runner to cover the darker nights, which in addition to the front page new releases (thanks Mike!), all the amazing new soul that Gouch keeps feeding me, the superb radio shows & playlists for new releases by likes of Steve G, Mick O'Donnell, Mark Merry etc to name but a few, gives another source of new vinyl, cd and MP3 only things for lazy explorers like me to soak up. Thanks gents. The amazing prev unreleased Dee Dee Warwick dancer "You tore my wall down" b/w "Can't it wait until tomorrow" from the Complete Atco Recordings cd of last year soon gets a 45 release through Soul Junction, so finally more of us will hopefully get to hear those out more. https://souljunctionrecords.co.uk/SJ533.html This month so far been enjoying the new Andre Lee, Nicole Willis and Grace Love CDs in the car...handy 45 vinyl releases already from both albums this year, just love this track from the Grace Love and True Loves album and another 45 from the Nicole Willis album out later this week "Let's communicate".. -
Brilliant lp's listed so far + Gloria Scott's one and only lp still does it for me. Also like to add Bobby Patterson -It's just a matter of time..so many great tracks.

Fellas, Don't Let The Girls Take Over - Soul Junction 45 Release
Scotters commented on Chalky's article in News Archives
Blimey where's two years gone since "People on a ego trip" was released?! Another great unreleased soul track finally gets issued for us to enjoy and it doesn't matter if we can't decide whether Checkmates Ltd or JB Bingham were better than the other at being all alone by the telephone...both are superb! Great write up too cheers. Next! -
Great revisiting this thread recently and appreciate majority interest is in rare records, but some very rare CDs out there for sure...Was lucky enough to recently pick up a couple of mint original copies of the absolutely stunning Michigan Soul Searchers "Where could I go" from 1996 and championed since then by Mark Merry, Mick ODonnell, Brian Goucher and the like. Thanks again to Brian for putting me on to it as it is without doubt one of the most uplifting modern gospel dancers I've ever heard and probably ever will.

Nancy Yahiro had a nice copy in her sales box a few months ago, if you want to try messaging her on here. Great track and also love the version by The Emotions that found its way onto a 45 a year or two ago, backed with what I believe is a legit reissue of Charmels for a tenner! Cheers, Steve. Happy Birthday btw!

Scotters replied to Scotters's topic in Event Playlists - Reviews
"Mysteron's"..Brilliant c/u that mate, only just spotted it Absolutely agree by the way, don't have to be rare records to make for an interesting soul gathering. Half of the newer things that get played here are 79p downloads, if that's the only way they're released then great....But yes course we do like the odd rare thing too if that's what people bring along Already looking forward to the next one 2nd August. Cheers everyone for interest in having a peek at these monthly playlists and supporting little events like this when you can make it along. Steve -

As well as all the Mastercuts series and others mentioned, I remember buying these two from Streetsounds at the same time, circa '88. https://www.streetsounds.co/Rare_Groove.htm Urban Records put out some good comps of Polydoor releases at the time too "Urban Classcs" 1-3, some great stuff on these and you can pick up for couple quid each if you look around.
