Scotters replied to Scotters's topic in General Sales & Wants
Thanks so much to Graham & Mark for getting in touch and helping me with the final two issues I was missing and also for the Christmas Hamper special from ‘92! Doubt very much that Rod Dearlove will do any more issues or specials..but I’ll keep asking him as these are absolutely brilliant! -

New Release - Broken Hearts Inc - Kimberlite Records
Scotters commented on an article in News Archives
I meant Promotional Copies..buyer’s choice I guess whether to pay bit more for limited run labels. I’m all for it if it helps the record labels / artists gain a bit more income while they can, invest back for more of the same hopefully. Yes great release and hope it leads to an album or at least further single releases from this group. -
New Release - Broken Hearts Inc - Kimberlite Records
Scotters commented on an article in News Archives
Email I received from Kimberlite the other day suggested a “European Distributor” had received stock delivery before they had in Canada. Official release date is 1st Aug I believe. Both the demo and issue went on pre-release sale online on Kimberlite website at midnight our time last night (5pm Canada time). Demo sold out quickly as expected and guessing the issues will too. Great to see quality new labels and new releases like this still popping up around the globe, even if it is sometimes a bit of a game trying to keep informed and still in with a shout at buying each release directly before they sell out and hit the re-seller market at 3 or 4 times the original retail price..but that’s another thread altogether I guess. Anyway I look forward to my parcel from Canada in a few weeks and to whatever comes next from Kimberlite Records. Cheers, S -
This thread seems to have dropped off so thought I’d try and get it going again!..Great new 45 soon from Kimberlite Records in Canada by “Broken Hearts Inc”to follow the high standard set by their first release a few months back

Was an interesting thread on here a while back on soul packs in the 70s / early 80s, stories of what are now very rare and sought after 45s nestling amongst dozens of other then largely unknown / unpopular sounds, all for what these days look like bargain prices..but no doubt still a fair dent in the weekly wage back then! Still see occasional soul packs posted up in sales on here, sometimes on the bay etc...so is anyone still getting that buzz of the parcel delivery of largely unknown or the blind-buy of a bundle of 45s or 12s etc? I was lucky to be introduced to Rod Dearlove of Voices a couple of years ago and he’s been kindly pulling together some amazing modern day soul packs for me every few months or so when funds allow..this latest box of goodies arriving this weekend which Rod’s called ‘The lost 12's of the Golden Era of Indie Soul!’...and a few 45’s too. This latest box delivered to my neighbour last week as I was out..the look on her face was a picture when she struggled round with it and said “I think this is more building materials or tools for your garden project?!”, to which I replied “no, an early Bithday present from me to me of old records!” ...Ahhh the buzz of a parcel treat of old records hey! So whether it’s a blind-buy pack or an order of carefully chosen records, cheap or rare, just a couple in a parcel or a bumper box delivery that’s going to make the postie or delivery guy sweat a bit, be intetested to hear of mid-summer treats landing elsewhere out there! Cheers!

Len, you might want to check your shelves as I think you sold me your Bobbie Smith several years ago! I might be imagining it but I think you then asked me what it was when I played it out somewhere a year or two later

Sounds to me like a slowed down loop edit from part of Lee Fields -Faithful Man? No, but great intro...and anyway you got me listening to this brilliant LP again, cheers!

Cool new laid back soul for a Friday night from the Colemine record machine Here’s the detail from Terry at Colemine Records... Wesley Bright & The Honeytones new single out digitally! “We are proud to announce the first new music from Akron, OH's Wesley Bright today! We have known Wesley and company for a while now, but it wasn't until last year that they came down to the studio to cut a couple of tunes and we are just now sneaking this first one out digitally. And would you believe it, this is the B-side! We'll be announcing the 45 once it arrives here, but we just couldn't contain ourselves with this one so we had to get it out on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Wesley Bright is a family man, a community man, and soul man! But would you believe that he not only makes sweet soul music, but also makes honey. I'll say it again. He makes honey. We are very excited to be working with him and the rest of the band as they are going to crank out some killer soul music in the near future! Best, Terry”
