One that got some spins in the 80's without really taking off, I used to hammer it at one time up t'north ;-)
-
Whilst very difficult to re-create anything that once was, any scene etc, just listen to Butch for a start, he's got a set full of quality soul, most traditional style too, Jerri Taylor, JJ Jackson, Jerry Williams, Diane Lewis, Masqueraders, Rita & Tiaras, Belita Woods - all cover ups also stuff like Mello Souls, Stormy Wynters, Jean Carter all great soul. He's also got some of the best 70's/crossover/modern that any dj can offer too. Plnty of other DJ's out there finding good stuff, Andy Dyson, Mick H, Kitch etc. Get to the next Lifeline on August 21st and hear the best the scene has to offer.

Andy's web site has has an update, mainly the Northern and monthly sales list sections. Hopefully will have all the sections complete very soon. Click >>HERE<< to access the site.

forgot, HArvy Fuqua was originally in charge of artist grooming.

Was it Maxine Powell. I know she opened Motowns artist developement school and toured with the Supremes as their chaperone and was in charge of their wardrobe.

Karen has sent me yours Seb, cheers anyway.

I would have said 600/700 squid Mike, not as good as Delegates in my opinion. Think I paid about £20 fro a Delegates in the 80's. Sold it for not much more few years later. The £350 plus is no one off silly ebay price though, all lately seem to be fetching that or more. Although over priced IMO, it should be £150 tops, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay, same as any record.
-
I tried to buy one of a dealer about very late 80's, maybe very early 90's at the 100 club but he'd sold it for £300 back then. £512 cheap IMO for a mint copy. Rate nearer £700. Very indemand amongst collectors and dj's.

Not sure if I know this one Paul. Had a quick look thorugh some tapes and can't find it. Anyone got an audio file???
-
If you've a few bob spare it's up for Auction on Manships site ;-)
-
there's certainly not 100's of copies of the Hamilton Movement, more like 25ish. Just happens that most dropped into the laps of DJs and thats probably why the reason it's heard so much.
-
anyone got an mp3 of Little Tony please???
-
Thought she was part of duo, think it's who I thought it was in the first place but will let someone else answer ;-)
-
Was she a writer too? Got an inkling who it is but will keep quiet, let someone else have a go ;-)
-
He began recording in the 50's and was still recording in the 90's.

Nope not Chuck J. Born March 27, 1937, in Haynesville, LA, about 15 miles south of Magnolia, AR (formerly Texarkana, a hotbed of blues activity in the 1920s and '30s). Was a boxer too.
