  1. Syl Johnson - Try Me (Twilight/Twinight). £10 and Northern Soul through and through. Has everything you want in a dancer.
  2. I prefer 143 (probably cause thats the one I got ;-) ) 152 has more bass and balls to it. If Mike has no objections (or Ady cause he's released them on CD) I can post some ra's for you to listen to and compare. Having said all that just buy one of them, Northern Soul as good as it gets and cheap @ £25.
  3. Dunno, I'll go and listen ;-)
  4. Roy Hamilton was I think one of Elvis' heroes.
  5. Oh and the two Calla releases are slightly different vocal takes and probably slightly different in the mix. You can hear the difference.
  6. Butch's version is far better, it has male backing for a start and finishes the record off IMO. The other two just aren't ther same, although superb Northern Soul.
  7. One went for a lot more some time back, £650/£750 if I remember rightly.
  8. Not a lot you can do. You can leave him poor feedback but he will then reply in kind and f*** your rating up. You could report to ebay, they may suspend his account but all he has to do is re-register under a different name. You could also watch his future auctions like you say;-) Know some who have done this.
  9. Paul's and Jock's arrived today. Got some serious listening to catch up on;-) Cheers guys.
  10. Was a quantity turned up not so long ago.
  11. Cheers Scotty. I know the Stanson release is pretty rare, like I said great bit of soul IMO. Will listen to rest of cd soon ;-)
  12. did anyone manage to tape the show? And you missed a good night at Sheridans Derek ;-)
  13. Nope and as far as I know not been booted. Expensive too!
  14. Great slab o' soul. Not a dancer by anyy stretch of the imaginatin but good. Bite his/her hand off ast £150. Manship not far wrong either, it's on Philmore Sound.
  15. Doesn't do a lot for me either Billy. If it was a common record would it still be played and talked about?
  16. Scotty's CD arrived this morning, not listened yet but loking at the listing it gets off to great start Sonny Craver. More deep than midtempo but great track none the less. Only seen this on Stanson. Whats on the flip of the Musette copy?
  17. Can't remember the last time I saw one and I've seen very few over the years actually listed. Last one was £150 and the one before a ton. Great record that should get more exposure IMO.
  18. I almost certain Dave Raistrick had a Jerry Naylor - City Lights last week when we went through his stuff.
  19. Have posted a sound file in sounds of all places. Don't think it's ever been put on cd.
  20. Hi Dan, Syng McGowan was on my wants list for ages after I heard it at Andy Dyson's, Janine finally got me a copy for me birthday last year. Great record IMO. I've played it out two or three times since getting it. Sir Ceasar old Big Joe Turner cover for Pat B, superb, just a pity it's on styrene ;-( Donald Jenkins not sure of price, have seen listed a t aa ton recently. Jimmy Burns always loved this since hearing Steve Smith spinning it :-) Larks shouldn't be expensive but this took me absolutely ages to get and still rarely see it, other side a cracker too, one for the next swap :-) Teardrops you should get a copy fo0r about £30, see it listed now and again, Thanks for the comments.
  21. Five cds through the post from Mischief, Craig, Dan, Miff and Mark Etheridge. Cheers guys, just need to find some time to listen and will then make some comments later. Loadsa soul :-)
  22. I watch that little TV John I cancelled the sky, waste of time and money really. Sopranos is the only program I've watched this week and I videoed that ;-)
  23. Yep, old Rob Marriott spin covered up as Sam Fletcher. Seen between £100 and £150.
  24. Cheers Al, glad you liked it. Just watching the Sopranos then I'll be playing the one from you and Kolla.
