Ben kicking about fairly regularly for years, certainly not rarest of the rare material. Few plays bit of demand and price goes up Would agree with Marc, maybe bit more.
Talking of Rod...dug some tapes out of the cupboard and there was a few of his with oddball stuff, his faves and raves, fair bit of deep...every type of soul, some good stuff. Just need to get it all on to cd now.
Deep Soul

There is definately a vocal to 6x6. Forget the artist but it's a Motown acetate and it is utter shite, absolutley terrible. John Pugh owns it.#
There ios also a 70' or 80's version too, that could be tailopr made but thats even worse than the studio acetate version
I've heard a lot more than 25 Oxford Knights turned up...plus the boots/counterfeits as well being passed of as originals  Or are you talking about the Del-Larks?
Chadwicks was if I remember rightly the oine he got from Chris Marriott.
Does make you wonder though all these records in pristine condition, no storage warp notjhing
Were all on that learning curve Jamie, no one can know everything.... and keep asking, I do if I don't know summat and want to find out.....only way to learn. I always want to hear summat new, good or bad.
Do you want a soundfile?????
How did you guess I wasn't a fan Personally think it's utter crap and shouldn't be allowed near a Northern room, along with most of the rock and roll and country and western music some DJ's are playing
So much soul out there that could and should be played first
Soon as I saw your topic header Eddie And Ernie sprung to mind. Spun Outcast at Lifeline..great record. Formed the basis of Left Out for Jesse Johnson on Old Town (Eddie Campbell co-wrote it). Sooper They've got to be the greatest Soul duo EVER.
No I think the vocal deserves all the credit IMO. I personally think that instrumentals are good Northern Soul and we all know that Northern Soul doesn't necessarily mean soul
And you start tingling when you hear the first part of the record comes on cause you love the record...soul, northern soul maybe even modern soul :o
