  1. Can’t remember, white demos I think, ones that didn’t jump
  2. She sold her biggie at Prestatyn, five copies she had I think when we were sat with her.
  3. 10k I think the last one?
  4. Leeds Queens Hall was the one I was referring to, over 7000 capacity according to the flyer...
  5. It is indeed
  6. Listened to this during the week. Excellent tribute from Shaun for Marc.
  7. why would I mention it???
  8. Leeds in the 70s. 6000 apparently.
  9. Three Voices in the mid 80s. More recently there was 6 allnighter promoters who worked together to ensure no clashes, we even had a joint flyer.
  10. The pandemic has shown that people are as selfish as ever. You only have to see the reaction to any government announcement, holidays, day trips when still locked down, the amount of events posted within minutes of the government revealing the way out of restrictions. Nothing has changed for the majority.
  11. If you go through the history of northern soul cover ups though, not many sound like the artist it is covered up as. The fact it was covered up usually served the intended purpose for some time and give the Dj the exclusivity he wanted. It was and still is good fun trying to work out who they are though.
  12. It appears the one behind Soultime Records is one of those jailed recently for bootlegging https://companycheck.co.uk/company/11703281/SOULTIME-RECORDS-LIMITED/companies-house-data
  13. Issue is far rarer
  14. Marvin Gaye was covered up as JJ Barnes and there is a similarity in their voices, apparently why JJ never got anywhere once Motown took over Ed Wingate’s labels.
  15. Ady was the one who flipped it as far as I am aware, that was in the 80s before Shifty got his stint there. I also cleared the floor at the Tracky Club and all over Yorkshire/Derbyshire with it about the same time, everyone still wanted the fast side. £1200 though is just barmy for something that in essence isn’t even rare, it is up for sale on a pretty regular basis. Chuck Cockerham has always been tough but never really achieved it’s worth when sold. Think the mainstream are finally latching on to it.
  16. The way I read the OP the guy wants a US Supplier, don't think Sounds Wholesale ship stateside?
  17. It is a test press to the one Blackpoolsoul posted....not sure who did them or how legit? https://www.discogs.com/Joe-Hicks-Dont-It-Make-You-Feel-Funky/release/6020921
  18. This week's show have 'Four Gents' who want want to show us their response to the fab four ladies from 2 weeks ago. John Durant, Barry Baker, Keith Whitson and Ian Dewhirst have been kind enough to provide the soundtrack to this week's show! Also tonight some wonderful releases from Diggin Deep Records www.diggin-deep.com Sean Hampsey and Kev Briscoe brilliant label!
  19. I'm not saying for one minute John isn't transparent, I know he is, neither am I saying his auction isn't the fairest or the best. But you both seem to be missing the point, when in demand records are auctioned the one with the most money will win on any platform, John, Tim'se bay, sotherby's.
  20. What, and price inflation isn’t rampant on John’s? Take another look at this weeks winning bids his sales by auction seem to be fetching more money than the others so that argument falls a little flat, thats not John’s fault nor a dig at anyone auctioning records, totally down to the buyer.
  21. That may be the case but the one with the most money will keep paying the incremental bid. The method matters little, the outcome is the same, the one with more money wins. These days the winner should only pay a quid more than the next best bid no matter who is auctioning the record.
  22. The end result of John’s is the same as any other auction, the one with the most money wins.
  23. Glenn Miller, £1600 plus, Esther £650, Silhouettes over 2k, lunatics have certainly been let out of the asylum tonight.
  24. Nice one, appreciated, will PM
