  9. Was 40/50 quid (books at that in the two guides) but personally think it's more than that now, possibly double those prices.
  10. The Yarmouth Weekenders had some great acts, great weekends too. Chuck Jackson the best, spent thje day with him watched him rehearse, bollock Snake Davis and co up and down dale...awesome set that night. Popcorn Wylie at Yarmouth. Gilly brought him round our chalet, had a bottle of my vodka and told some amazing stories about his life. Yarmouth again, Gene Chandler, Eddie Holman, Ray Pollard...awesome!! and many more, great days.
  11. forgot all about that Little Annie bag o' shite ...definately on the wrong scene
  12. After posting up that absolutely terrible acetate thing the other week, you then knock a perfectly decent soul record....beginning to wonder if your on the right scene
  13. Pretty certain it's different to Soul Galore. The Soul Galore one as far as I can remember (not heard it for some 15 years) is the same as single release but no strings?????? Can someone verify? The info I have on this one is it's just an unreleased version.
  14. here's the version I was on a bout.......
  15. Sheer stupidity IMHO. Why on earth anyone would want to spend this much on Ed Bruce is utter disbelief. This is not a rare record, granted it's not often up for sale but it was about fairly regularly at one time. If thats worth nearly a grand what would something like Gentlemen Four on Wand be worht now???
  16. Think there are a few versions kicking about. There's a compilation lp (Soul Galore or summat like) with a version with no strings (I think). I've a studio demo version somewhere, will dig it out when I get the chance.
  17. Try burning at the slowest writing speed, usually x4.
  18. 1st Lifeline January 2004, so first advertisement would have been the December 2003 issue.
  19. Utter bollocks Christian. So your saying that if the artist isn't black it ain't soul???
  20. When did on the scene start. Advertised Lifeline nearly 18 months ago and it wasn't free, fiver per month if I remember rightly.
  21. No Dj has got an original acetate, they are all cuts/emi-discs done from the re-mastered tapes are they not! So in reality no different to getting a cut done from the cd when it's out
