  1. Yep I'll dig through some tapes and cds when I get chance Richie.
  2. the Oxford definition of rare is rare1 - adjective (rarer, rarest) 1 occurring very infrequently. 2 remarkable: a player of rare skill.
  3. I know "There'll Come A Time" on "Wam" £75ish .....
  4. if someone does a set of £10, £20, £30 records, does that make 'em a "cheap soul dj" should they be advertised as this on flyers would you go and listen to a "cheap soul dj"
  5. agree totally Pete
  6. does it make someone a DJ just cause they have a few rare records ????? seen quite a few behind the decks over the years playing so called rare records but wouldn't really call them a dj. should also play records you believe and have faith in, not just because they are rare and may turn a few heads.
  7. damn shame.....probably the best soul night going musically only half hour down the road too
  8. still is a 3 or 4 count record as far as I know. one of the couple I presume was on JM auction? heard far worse than this but wouldn't class it as awful......but then again Pete reckons I have no taste
  9. spoke to the guy who did the show he said it would be fine to put the show up as long as credit him. Dunno if Mike can put a show up 1.5 hours long might be able to trim it down a bit
  10. don't think the price guides are really based on auctions except the latest JM one where some are quoted as the price he got for his auctions. e-bay prices might be down but aren't they just falling intop line with what the disc is really worth instead of the inflated prices that we have been seeing for the indemanders. from the sales lists I get I don't see much evidence of a reduction in prices.
  11. I would have thought a ton is a realistic price although it does seem to sell pretty well..good record mind
  12. it was the former location present location is back home in chesterfield. as for singer and title he don't need me
  13. Have seen the Daran for £250 and £300 in recent times. The Ja-Wes have seen for as much as £400.
  14. well I don't think the person who told me was in the slightest jealous. wasn't told about a box full, you know summat we don't
  15. no worries Moldie, better two replies than none
  16. https://www.vinylcarvers.co.uk/homepage.html
  17. only relating what I was told, was even told who sold the alleged boot but we won't go there
  18. I was told this well over a year ago It might well ahve been a rumour though
  19. is this the rarity on KoKo? if so there was some boots kicking about that I heard were being passed off as originals with soemone shelling out 2k on one. Dunno how true.
  20. That Other Place is better too....in fact most things he's done are better including the unreleased Can't Get Away From Your Love that got a few spins at one time.
  21. you must be watching a different ebay cause the last three seem to have made between 459 and 472 dollars. You know full well that E-bay and other auction sites aren't a true reflection of a records worth. And I'd be surprised to see a Bobby Reed on any sales list for less than £400.
  22. You can't now. The show went out on the 1st October, I found a link to the playl;ist when researching Kell for an article. I mailed the guy who did the interview, he gave me the guys address who puts the show out and he put the show up for me on a stream at three differnet times. Due to work I missed two and the first half hour of the third. I have recorded it, when I get chance I'll convert it, ask for permission and maybe Mike can put it up on here for a while, it is nearly an hour and half long. I can maybe cut out the non Kell records too and reduce it a bit more.
  23. just looked again it is an Ace release under the Stax logo.....
  24. dunno, don't buy lps, or very few and certainly don't buy Otis Redding lps. quick internet search threw up 1993 on stax
