  1. You need several copies of a record in various parts of the country to make it big. Patrinell Staton for example, Butch played this for ages and was basically only known to the nighter regulars, once others got hold of copy and played more or less at soul nights all over if soon went big all over.
  2. Not sure Dan but Andy Dyson might have got or had a copy. Drop him a mail Dysonsoul@aol.com or i'll check later for you.
  3. often only of interest to completists etc or if can't locate US copy. Attached a scan of an Argentinian Joannie Summers on ebay a while back......
  4. Haven't seen a Brazillian copy of this but seen other Brazillian 45's, Nolan Porter springs to mind. Price wise dunno. Have seen other South American releases and they've fetched nothing like the US release.
  5. they should come over here for the Vanguards Jazzy as it's very cheap, lots of copies about and can't imagine why anyone would want to charge lots of money for it.
  6. Hi Frank, I use Jet Audio, best player I've ever used and the only one I've stuck with. This will also convert to many formats including mp3pro which will reduce your mp3/wav to about the same size as real media when converted at 32 or 40 kbps, far better sound quality than real media to. I've mailed you off list Here's the flip that Frank sent through to me..... Wendell Watts Will You Be Staying After Sunday Ref Or Ree.mp3
  7. It's not bad but it's not great, wouldn't go as far as sublime IMO. If the record was £30 and not £300 I can still get far better records, soulful or white pop stompers as mentioned for my money . His Kiss A Goodthing Goodbye is far better even though the recording is poorer, damn sight rarer too
  8. personally would add a dj in the middle...one that plays tunes that are known but not often played, certtainly not at your mainstream events). Not that many dj's playing new records (new discoveries). not that many venues either.

  20. Hi Stevie, agree Nat Hall better version. Have seen Willie Mason sell for more It was Karl who played it Boxing night.
  21. Surprised no ones mentioned the Mello Souls - We Can Make It. From kicking in after a few seconds the drummer hardly lets up, he must have been f*cked after that session Also when listening to Mel Williams - Burn Baby Burn. The druimmer there all the way through practically but after a minute or so, along with the female backing he just steps up the pace a notch, great stuff
  22. I put myself to bed ya cheeky git I did get up at 10.30 but thought f*ck it and got back in Besides that doesn't count as that was afternoon session, no assistance and we were the only ones in to start with we had to make em get bar staff in Gilly did go back out didn't he
