  2. I just need to get one extra shelf for the last one I got, bout 7 feet high or so billy? without doors, easier access
  3. People do that with set sale though, week one, record sells for £100. Week 2 seller puts it up for £150. Week three another is £200. It might have sold ten times for 100 but they still add another 50 quid and so on these days. The whole market is now out to exploit regardless of how it is sold.
  4. I have to disagree with number 1, personally think they want or hope to get more than the accepted going rate. If they want a quick sale would be prepared to accept less then why not simply set sale cheaper than recent prices? It is a gamble going to auction but one some seem prepared to take. They probably have a reserve on them as well.
  5. Ikea billy bookcase is ideal or really useful box
  6. people often say "set sale its" because for one they aren't that rare and they have a decent recent sales history and can be easily valued
  7. The one I have is about 2.32, the 2.16 one is edited down and the 1.50 or so is the ebay sound file. Listening to what I think it is now, eek
  8. Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul ™ 19th February 2022 with special studio guest the legendary Guy Hennigan. Two hours of great music, its history and stories of years of activity and antics on the scene. Please favourite, repost and share!
  9. think the acetate maybe the Richie Parker/Aaron Neville one Poke used to play, pretty poor if memory serves?
  10. Previous topic here... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/forums/topic/351631-styrene-west-coast-vinyl-east-coast/
  11. Think they had moved here full time by then. The video for Nothing But A Heartache was shot at an old Abbey in Wales if memory serves.
  12. northern etc on it too, Fred Hughes, Ray Pettis etc
  13. Is that the eBay sound file...that is shorter but it was edited
  14. it was never released, it must have been planned though if a test press was done
  15. Its a test press if I remember rightly not an acetate, but I could be wrong, had it in me hands as well
  16. It is his label, its also his publishing company
  17. The Servicemen is a year later after having a quick look, Feb 67 whereas the Chattahoochie is Feb 66. There are two or three presses on Whittier, one with the car design. One is much later repress it would seem from having a quick look round the internet.
  18. it is for 99% of collectors/buyers. A tiny minority is totally skewing the market.
  19. when two or more get involved in a bidding war, the fear of missing out takes over and all sense and logic disappears. The whole market from Northern Soul records is totally skewed, it basically f*cked. Hopefully some of these false inflating prices will take a big hit one day cause many records that should be within reach of many are now completely out of reach. There is no reason whatsoever or logic why a record that has been less than £1k for many years should all of a sudden triple in value in a short space of time. As said it isn't even rare.
  20. I'm still in regular contact with Larry from the Servicemen, I'll drop him a message about this during the week.
  21. What is it?
  22. I'll post the link shall I https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125136545151?hash=item1d22b8257f:g:LXMAAOSwLk9hurD3
  23. The one you want is an edited version of the 12" release, it is certainly a bootleg.
  24. Just done the same and I can't find it
  25. That was probably the Mill Edwards test pressing of JLTW that Butch has.
