definately played it there.....dunno if it was played previously though.
-
I 've no particular wish to own it James. Maybe if I had 4 grand spare and one was available then I might consider it Carl played it last time at Middleton. And Carls turned down a lot more than £3k I reckon it would fetch more than the £3k mentioned on JM's auction.
-
Always thought it was a two known copy disc. Knew Carl had one wasn't aware who had other.
-
it's an old Stafford spin for Keb. Carl Fortnum is the only one who I've heard play this out these days.
-
Easily worth £3000 IMO. Ridiculously rare and far better than a lot of the so called rare stufff played these days. If Pat & Blenders is £1K plus now the Trent Sisters is worth ten times that in rarity alone Two, three known copies? Probably impossible to put a price on as who knows what it would fetch in an auction

cheers Ted

Yes but I think back then the weekenders were every six months or later in the year and the single was late for the anniversary, sure it was given out at the weekender If it wasn't this one I'm sure one was
-
I agree with the Soul Notes although it has had fair few spins lately. How about the bit rarer flip, Don't Make Me Beg, spun that one ouit a few times recently. Turks and Profiles both had plenty of spins although never really took off. One that deserves to go and still cheap is JJ Daniels Mr. Lonesome on Sureshot Just read this after posting a reply Gotta agree with ya Joan, quality
-
yeah I know that, I meant an original 60's release? If I remember rightly the Kent one was given out at one of the early Cleethorpes weekenders

Lifeline regulars Butch, Andy Dyson, Soul Sam, Cliff Steele & Chalky with guests Andy Whitmore, Paul Sadot & Andy Riley (Mick H is away for this all-nighter) all spinning the rare, obscure, expensive, forgotten and underplayed thinking mans (and Womans) oldies whatever the price....quality soul from the 60's, 70's and anything else that the DJ's wish to play. The only thing we tell the DJ's is play what you want Tenner gets you in further details and info Andy @ Dysonsoul@aol.com or tel: 01302 744927 or Mick @ Trentsoul@aol.com or tel: 07968 030464 or Chalky @ chalky@soultown.eclipse.co.uk 07743 863523 ********************************************************************** After the great success of the first Lifeline Weekender held in February 2006, you will be pleased to know that we are going to hold another in 2007! The dates are February 9th, 10th and 11th 2007. The line up will again feature some of the worlds premier Soul DJ's. As well as the usual Lifeline residents, Butch, Andy Dyson, Mick H, Chalky, Cliff Steele and Soul Sam, guests including Dean Anderson, Kitch, Tim Brown, Arthur Fenn & Andy Whitmore and others to be confirmed, will be spinning the finest soul from the 60's and 70's with maybe the odd 80's and funk flavoured discs also getting an airing. Unfortunately the hotel has increased their prices but only by £10 per person per weekend making a total cost of £110, still a bargain in our opinions to spend a weekend listening to the finest soul spinners spinning the finest soul on vinyl in the world!! All those who had rooms for the first weekender in February 2006 will be given first refusal of a room for the 2007 event. You will have until the end of July to pay your deposit (50% non-refundable, £55) to secure a room. If the deposit not paid then the room will be given to someone on the waiting list who have indicated they would like a room. The balance MUST be paid by November 1st or again the room will be released to someone on the waiting list. We have to be strict with the deadline for the balance to be paid because the hotel stipulates that we pay them the final payment for the use of the hotel for the weekend and we also spent too much time last year chasing late payers...these are the hotel rules not ours unfortunately so we have to be a little more stricter with this than we were last year. Demand for rooms is greater than what we can supply so it is best you pay your deposits/balances on time to avoid disappointment. If you can't get into the hotel then again weekend passes will be available at £35 with plenty of acomadation close by. Payment...... Cash, postal orders are the preferred option but if you wish to pay by cheque make payable to Karl White. If you require a booking form e-mail chalky@soultown.eclipse.co.uk. We will also have booking forms at events in the near future, including the upcoming Lifeline all-nighter on 29th April. All monies to be sent to... thought this version unreleased, test press only.
-
Did it go from Ion to Carl to Kitch.....Kitch deffo bought it off one of them, think the deal was done at Trotters in Mansfield, Rob Marriotts old venue Ady Potts had two copies couple of years ago in sales box.
-
I am/was. Can remember the Patti Livingston too, infact bought my old copy from Guy back in the 80's. Might be worth a few spins again.
-
Kirtsy got the Fred & Turbines right Kitch bought Ion's copy if I remember rightly. Can't recall or remember Del Chantays being covered Michael Christian was covered as Nolan Chance & Constellations by Pat Brady. Two Plus Two covered by Butch as Servicemen.
-
I don't think it's him. Was talking to Andy Rix years ago about this and we came to the conclusion it was Jimmy Radcliffe. Wasn't the original studio disc is a UK test pressing, Adivision or summat like (played by Ion?) so maybe he's English?
