  1. will post a clip Grant, won't post full file if you are selling
  2. I'd say the 4-500 Richie quotes is a more realistic price (in the real world) rather than the 600-700 that it has been fetching, why they pay that I'll never know especially considering copies turned up, it is/was a regular on e-bay Go for his Luv'H, better record and far far cheaper
  3. According to Rubin Molina at the time of the Highland recordings the group consisted of Mike & Robert Kirkland, their sister, her husdand Armand Postell and Michael Trotter. I've played the Don't Mess With Me out quite a few times last couple of years and amazes me how many came up to ask what it was. Great chaepie
  4. I've the Cory Cornell on a tape somewhere, will have a look for it. Tough one, don't see it much at all.
  5. on the topic of Jean Well - With My Love, the background to the Lifeline flyers is the songm sheet, courtesy of Kitch There's one in the flyer section somewhwere.
  6. the instrumental is the flip of Butch's acetate. Best version of the lot Butch's, more complete IMHO as it has male backing whereas the released versions don't.
  7. Calla 143 and Calla 152, two different mixes. Then there is Butch's studio acetate, different again
  8. there was still plenty of modern/70's played during the 60's mafia period of Keb and Guy etc....
  9. I agree Baz, I've played it out at Middleton, Lifeline and odd venue in between. I played it at Harrogate, the one place I expected to clear the floor but got the opposite, most danced which was pleasing. Hi Stevie...thanks mate but not after a copy
  10. it looked shagged to me but then again the scan was only of the label put it this way it looked tatty, it appears no one else was impressed with the condition either. Strange there was no bids considering only last week one in good nick went for $455, another a week or two previous for over $500 and one couple of months ago for over $700. At least we agree the price is over inflated
  11. you could be right but sure I have it on a tape pre Rob although it won't be by much
  12. I would have thought pretty well known on nighter scene but then again....Andy Dyson has played it in recent years, Nige Mayfield too I think. Dunno who played it first though. as for price I would have thought at least £600 now from a dealer, maybe more.
  13. ah right.... i'll have a guess at the Waves....
  14. here's a clip...almost 2 mionutes...will sort full one when I get chance, it's getting on for 4 minutes long....... Sound_1.mp3
  15. what did he post on here, I missed it as it was taken down and topic closed
  16. £50, what for, Neil Kimble? Hasn't been £50 for some time. Went last week on e-bay for $455 and previous to that for around $500 and $700. Although one went through last week with no bids but it was shagged. I would agree that the price is some what inflated right now.
  17. I have a scan somewhere of Sly & Family Stone, Iranian issue.
  18. I personally think a table near the entrance would be a better option than to spread them all over tables to use as beer mats It would please more venue managers as well when it comes to cleaning up
  19. you would think so Dave in reality but I think those who do go out and take the trouble to vote get the promotion from all the options in the poll but I'm just interested in what has the greater impact these days and if flyers are becoming less important. Many who are more than capable with the internet still rely on flyers, others aren't. Some only go for venues with a well produced flyer, some couldn't care what the flyer looked like. I know not gonna get a true reflection of the best methodf of promotion but will at least get a good idea.
  20. How many flyers are left behind though these days? Most of em judging by the beer soaked papier mache left on the tables at the end of the night.
  21. I raised the topic pourely to try ascertain which method is the most effective and alosm which is the first place most hear about an event.. I'm also interested in the promoters point of view. From what I've seen in recent times the internet would be the most effective way to get news of your event out there in the public. Like I said I hardly pick a flyer up these days. As for texts I usually know about the event before having read it on the internet as that is trhe place where most events are advertised first. why? you don't read about an event from a flyer whilst reading the internet at the same time do you? I wanted to know where you first read or heard about an event so can't be both, it's either one or the other?
  22. I think those double sided card type flyers are a pain in the neck, gettin a real bugger to find summat decent to scibble notes, details of records and addresses and telephone numbers, oh and e-mail addresses on
  23. Also interested in the promoters view, do you get a better response and more promotion from the internet or do you still think flyers are a vital part of your promoting?
  24. If out and about and on the internet regualarly I'd agree, but just wanted to get a general idea as to where you hear about an event first. For me it's usually the internet, unless it's handed to me I rarely pick up a flyer these days. I know it's early days but no one yet voted for a flyer....are these becoming redundant and a waste of time and paper?
