  1. contrary to what some say there wasn't quantity on some of the releases and some titles have now been sold. Might be worth investing in a few of the titles
  2. Original blue lettering
  3. definately a boot IMO.
  4. the cheapest way if turntable is near the pc is a lead from the headphone socket on your amp to the line in socket on your soundcard. The lead should cost no more than a few pounds. All the software can be got for nothing, audacity supposed to be a good free one. No need for mixers, pre amps or expensive USB turntable etc. If you can't go from your amp on stereo then you might need a pre amp which can be bought for around 20 quid.
  5. Kell Osborne - Law Against A Heartbreaker - Highland, only two known demos. Dunno if any issues ever pressed but pretty sure none known about.
  6. well just for once gonna have to disagree Simon 400 tops IMHO, some of these did turn up and personally I doubt I'd pay anymore than 300/350 if I was to want one. LIke Hammy says demand from other scenes will have an influence on the price though.
  7. Real sad news Didn't know him too well but like others saw him out and about plenty. R.I.P. Pickles
  8. you've either got one or know of one coming up for sale Andy....it's a once in a blue moon record, you know full well hardly ever see it for sale. Whats the other release on the Nuron label? Titles?
  9. are you wearing lipstick Pete
  10. I myself have played many a record under £50. Firm believer that along with rarer stuff throw in some cheapies and then at least there's some there the punters can afford if they don't know and wish to buy. At least half my last set were under £50. Played Carl Carlton for a while, £80 Butch has or had these at £20 or £30, and thats recently cause I put someone onto a copy he had. Have seen Geni for around £60 in recent times so wouldn't have thought £75 too ridiculous and as for Gene Chandler, we've been there already
  11. yep cheers Byrney mate, enjoyed listening last night
  12. dunno, maybe again possibly bit too fast for beat ballad but fuckin' 'ell, what a fantastic soul record. Pisses all over that shite Kenny Lonas version as well
  13. I actually used to play this the odd time in the 80's early 90's, sure I played it at Bretby and few collectors didn't know it then with one or two coming up to see what it was
  14. personally think the alternate version to You Can Split, Is This A Womans Way isn't very good, poor at side of Youngblood Smith
  15. thought it was someone beginning with "L" Thomas but couldn't quite remember

  18. Heartbreaking Truth - don & juan - mala
  19. Alone With My Tears - bobby bennett - v-tone one of the best!
  20. well some of todays seem to be too quick to be beat ballads and some of yesterdays seemed to be too slow to be mid-tempo

  22. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, We have no alternative but to cancel the planned all-nighter on New Years Eve. We will however be back in the New Year with allnighters as planned for both Lifeline and Dusk Till Dawn. In the meantime all involved with Lifeline and Dusk Till Dawn would like to wish all a Merry Christmas and Soulful and Prosperous New Year.
  23. There's over a 100 releases on Fania with the numbering system starting in the early 400's and finishing late 900 then the label series contines with Uptite, so must be a fair few good 'uns in there
  24. err isn't the Nurons an old Wigan spin you just missed one on e-bay, just over 3.5k I think, cheap I thought, was expecting it to go for around 5k.
  25. well Dave Abbott said he had a nerve listing the record and not putting northern soul in the description
