  1. Quite a few more than 4, there is probably 4 in New York. Andy Rix got three copies from band members or relatives. Two at least in Japan at one time, couple over here etc etc
  2. Simply give both visual and play grade. As you say photo and sound file can be supplied as well, the buyer then has all the information to make a decision.
  3. Must be something else that was a little bit more then
  4. Bit more than that. One sided too if memory serves
  5. John Vincent ws recently the subject of conversation in one topic, Tommy Ridgely being the link. Here is a Top 15 of John's from 24th September 1983.
  6. This weeks show with special guests in the studio Nicola Anderson and Ricard "Gilly" Gilbert. Rare Soul and banter galore.
  7. I have Ian Clark early 80s with Ruby Andrews, can't remember if it was late Yate, I will see if I can find the source.
  8. I heard he got into bother with that one as it wasn't licensed
  9. I know he played it with the other newies at Morecambe for about 6 months, 1983. He said they were poorly received and he became disillusioned and retired.
  10. The Wigan set with Tommy Ridgely was discussed here... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/forums/topic/324115-awesome-richard-searling-spot-at-wigan/
  11. Tommy Ridgely it would appear was played just the once, week after the 6th anniversary, 29/9/79. IT went back to John by all accounts and was picked up by John Vincent who played it along with Just Brothers, Peanut Duck etc at Morecambe to little acclaim. Butch made it massive mid 80s onwards Ian Clark played it early 80s
  12. Most of those were what we would have termed oldies by then with most having been played since at least the mid 80s, some early 80s and some earlier than that.
  13. Wikipedia has a pretty long list of members, again how accurate not sure?
  14. As far as I am aware none of the tracks you seek are on any kinda Cd release.
  15. Ordered a copy last night
  16. This week's show (2nd December)
  17. Struggling with 5,11,24,25,29,30.
  18. For the vast majority of us we are nearer the end than the beginning of this journey and it has to be passed onto others. I hate to see the scene splashed across the media like it is with Levanna and she does seem to court the attention but if what she does ensure the music doesn't die out with us then more power to her. Kids have very little these days to look forward to. We had youth clubs then progressed to clubs, kids don't have scene of any kind really and the music is more of less controlled by the majors. Hopefully a big bunch of these kids will find the adventure we did. not enough stay with it though, very few travel although you don't really have to travel these days.
  19. Cecil Lyde isn't covered, a fair few aren't covered up
  20. Can you uncover the cover ups, half we can't remember or figure out.....
  21. I thought this might be of interest to some of you.... As part of my research into hopefully one day writing a book on the scene post Wigan I have begun to do a timeline of event, 1980-1990. Here are scans of the first half of 1984. It is data taken from The Echoes magazine only and is all-nighters and all-dayers only, just a few soul nights that I considered important or part of a larger history for a certain Club, 6ts for instance. There are more soul nights than my lifetime allows me to research As you can see it was pretty health all-nighter wise, certainly far more healthier than what was happening at the back end of the Wigan era, 1980/81 which was dominated by all-layers and jazz Funk. Still a lot of the Djs from the earlier years getting plenty of work but many of the new breed at the forefront. As you will see, clashing is not just a thing for today's scene.

  24. Not sure anything is stuck on, think the label is torn and a stamp over the torn bit, had it me hands many years ago but memory not what it was
  25. Before then, early 80s Dave Withers and Rod Shard. Not sure if it was one they got from Richard Searling along with CODs and other Combinations. @Modernsoulsucks
