  1. Covered up as Carole Waller though.
  2. Same singer with the Jackals as on Musette and Imperial but the obituary is not the JJ Jackson the original poster wants info for.
  3. I do like to read others perspective of their time on the scene. It can join a lot of dots from the times you/we missed if you like the history of the scene.
  4. I bought two LPs off discogs, I get the refund when they process the order, I also bought a 45 off his website, discount applied straight away with the code HALFPRICE. There are plenty of bargains on his site and discogs.

  6. That doesn’t make it a Monarch press though. As discussed in another topic, if there is no delta number and MR stamp I doubt it being a monarch press.
  7. A happy, healthy and prosperous 2025 to you all.
  8. West Coast promo with producer arranger details at the bottom, is there a West Coast issue though? No mention though of it being a Monarch press https://www.discogs.com/release/6043803-Sugar-And-The-Spices-Have-Faith-In-Me-Teardrops
  9. The group was from Detroit and were discovered by Irving Micahnik and Harry Balk. Harry Balk probably got them the Big Top deal along with the other labels. Great track and one I had in my sets late 80s early 90s at places like Tracky Club.
  10. Aww thanks for the kind words mate. Hopefully I won’t disappoint this time either. Its been a great year once more at Ashton with the venue cementing its place at the top. A happy new year to everyone involved and who shows theirbsupoort for the hard work the guys put in. Hopefully something like this will be dusted off….old Jimmy Wensiora cover up and one I revived at Lifeline
  11. Yes, Fury recordings are from 61/62, could be Veejay as in a similar vein which is 63. It is a strange compilation for sure.
  12. It sounds earlier than the Maxx material, maybe from Bobby Robinson stable as you say when she recorded for Fury.
  13. DEAN ANDERSON presents THE SOUND OF SOUL™ 26th December 2024 7 -10pm Boxing Day Special - 3 hours!! **LIVE CHAT EVERY WEEK** After all the excitement of Christmas Day we thought we would give you the chance to relax a little longer before the next round of madness arrives. 15. It’s not easy to find and hasn’t been for some years IMO. would never have put down as a $1300 record but the way today’s prices are it doesn’t surprise me.
  16. Who knows the reason but the venues I’ve attended over the years it’s always been about. As I said it might be getting more popular with the mainstream and pop up Djs
  17. Someone will have entered DC due to the Capcity release . His other releases if indeed the same person are west coast.
  18. Possibly/probably. They had the same producer.

  25. DEAN ANDERSON presents THE SOUND OF SOUL™ 19th December 2024 8 -10pm **LIVE CHAT EVERY WEEK** Brian Goucher is back in the studio for this show for his latest offering from the school of soul music. Brian is without doubt one of the rare soul scenes forerunners in new/recent/modern soul music and still contributes to various media sources. In Brian's own words "The current obsession with the soul 45 is leaving a plethora of albums in the wilderness, so I'm going to plunder new, recent and decent albums"
