  1. A great looking label and a superb release. Sure to sell out so don't overlay on the 20th!
  2. A fool and his money is easily parted
  3. all boots are pressed at bonified plants, Soussan was pressing his at monarch, there is no such thing as a bootleg plant. It is still a bootleg, will always be a bootleg. I just don't get why you try to justify the owning or playing of it? As for the original question, it s a bootleg, worthless IMO. £10/£20. £180 is stupid.
  4. But its a boot, that is the point. People are supposed to be playing originals, play the LP
  5. LP for Rosalind. Billy Paul's on a 45 if its same one for next to nowt
  6. In the days of originals only why would this be rising in price when it's legitimacy is in question? Well there is no question really, it's a boot. I don't understand the need to boot them either, not like you can't get the originals, both cheap.
  7. Its not a bad record by any means but its neither a particularly strong record. I love a decent girl group record as much as others, solo as well but I just think there are many far better examples than this. The Stella take is a better stronger take. Be boring if we all liked the same.
  8. I agree prefer the Stella version
  9. This weeks show with special. guests Preston Cyber People Stuart and Penni Raith
  10. It starts off well but when it gets to the hook/chorus it loses it altogether IMO, as you say it goes out of tune. Pretty average although rare piece.
  11. everything you need to know about Northern Soul....look no further https://blog.discogs.com/en/northern-soul-genre-music-essential-history-guide/
  12. Spot on it did and still does get hyped, you see it all the time when someone is trying to flog one. There are many RCA stockers worthy of a mention in this topic for instance cause most aren't particularly rare, rarer than the demo maybe but not that rare in the scheme of things.
  13. Do you mean their blog? https://blog.discogs.com/en/venetta-fields-singer-biography/
  14. December 10th 2005 was the night at the Fox, sure we only did one there. So not even two years at the Stables, felt like longer! First weekender was Feb 3rd to 5th 2006 and Barmby Moor was the home for Lifeline from then for a couple of years.
  15. A couple of hours free so the records are out, some recent releases, some forthcoming releases and some tracks from a few Lps on hand as well. 16. I have the flyers somewhere, will have to dig them out. The first weekender was 2006, we did one at the Fox at Colsterworth prior to the move to Barmby Moor, so two years or so tops
  17. they do sound similar and Art did work with Van McCoy too
  18. whilst the reissue does state mono the only thing you really need to know is the catalogue number, 9723 is first, 1035 is later.
  19. The Sound of Soul 17th Feb 2022 with your host Dean Anderson and special guest Kev Cox

  21. I just need to get one extra shelf for the last one I got, bout 7 feet high or so billy? without doors, easier access
  22. People do that with set sale though, week one, record sells for £100. Week 2 seller puts it up for £150. Week three another is £200. It might have sold ten times for 100 but they still add another 50 quid and so on these days. The whole market is now out to exploit regardless of how it is sold.
  23. I have to disagree with number 1, personally think they want or hope to get more than the accepted going rate. If they want a quick sale would be prepared to accept less then why not simply set sale cheaper than recent prices? It is a gamble going to auction but one some seem prepared to take. They probably have a reserve on them as well.
  24. Ikea billy bookcase is ideal or really useful box
  25. people often say "set sale its" because for one they aren't that rare and they have a decent recent sales history and can be easily valued
