  1. It's from the LP Soul Out on Verve. Old Jack Montgomery cover up from Stafford. Shouldn't be too hard to get a copy, £20/£30 maybe cheaper on the bay. Four or five other good tracks on the lp too.
  2. Whats the buying of (in the vast majority of cases) failed and second hand records got to do with royalties? If some are that concerned about royalites maybe everytime they purchase a record they should donate 4 or 5% of what they paid to the artist if they can be traced or to the artist benevolent fund or whatever it is the recording industry has. I wonder how many would do this As for cover ups. How many time are we gonna argue this one? If the DJ had gone to the trouble to seek out these records in the first place then I doubt they would get heard and even when they are uncovered (they don't stay covered for ever) I doubrt it will benifit the artist at all as more often than not these days they the record is very obscure. Besides the DJ hwo made the effort to find these records is entitled IMHO to a bit of exclusivity whilst everyone else (if it's good enough) works out what it is and finds a copy. There are ways to try and do your bit if you are that concerned, buy the cds that companys like Kent etc produce, don't support the bootleggers and support the artists when they make a visit over here. you will find that most of the hypocrites are those that do the preaching!!!
  3. I don't recall seeing one for sale anywhere else for sometime.......although memory not what it used to be
  4. Most won't pay £15 for a band they do know Suppose it depends on your dj line up, time it ends etc, the bands routine? If just a soul night, say 2am finish with a band doing covers then I reckon you'll struggle at £15. Forget the 2nd option all together for your average soul crowd!! Food, I doubt much would get eaten anyway
  5. no far from it think Steve is rubbing it in a bit. One on the bay earlier this year for over $600
  6. I've just in the process of doing a cd of a crossover set I did at Piercebridge, need some blanks. If you fancy one of those I'll swap you. Will bring with me next week when I'm down at DKOF with Andy.
  7. cheers Marc, just found it on youtube....
  8. anyone got a soundfile of Rocket 88 ( I think thats what it's called), credited with being one of the first rock n roll records. Shame he will probably be best remembered for slapping Tina around and not his music!! R.I.P. Ike
  9. I rate it lot more than that, at least twice maybe????? Very rare disc. And why the surprise at NuRons? It's probably what I expected and why on earth if you had a copy would you sell it for half what you could get??
  10. I would agree with that Tony, she's not IMHO) as great as made out to be, good maybe but like I said there's many I would listen too before Aretha!!!! Sorry Jock, off to tescos for some undiluted bleach.....I'll let you know tomorrow if it makes her any better

  14. The first three came into the country via Tim Brown. A mate of mine was there when they were opened. Rob had one, think one went north of the border. I'll bell me mate when I get the chance and get full story. 1992 I think the year was.

Have seen the picture cover a lot more than £120. It's in JM guide at £300. What about the red vinyl release Prefer the flip to be honest.
