I would rate Rees Flores around half what you rate Willie Faulk at, maybe less. It was pretty indemand not so long ago and was fetching a four figure sum. Like you seen more Rees Flores. Can't find much info on the Traditions...yet!

The Ditalians first released on Trip which was part of the Saxony set up. Different flip for the Saxony release. Seen it in recent times for around £150 on Trip but would go for more these days, one on Soulsupermarket for £250. There is a web page for Saxony, you can read it HERE some photos of the various acts in there too including one of Gerri Diamond There a bit more about the label on cdbaby HERE from what I can gather the Ditalians went on to become 24-Carat Black on Stax and included amongst them Ricky Foster, William Gentry, Gregory Ingram, Jerome Derrickson, William Talbert, Dale O. Warren, James Terry, Edwin Hubbard, Nick Vergos, Ernest Latimore, Larry Austin, Tyrone Steels, Princess Hearn, Kathleen Dent, Valerie Malone.

Popular at the time of it's release maybe, but for how long? My guess just a short period of popularity? It's hardly left a lasting impression has it since it's popularity waned. It's probably had little or no influence on the scene since it's brief(?) popularity, certainly no long standing impact, not in my time on the scene. There are plenty from the 80's period of the scene that have had a far more influence on the scene than the Flasher (and others amongst the list) yet are not included..and they continue to have an influence, like I said earlier you only have to look at playlists every week to see this. All IMHO of course

It's got to be a personal opinion, if not totally then certainly in parts. Who else would include the Falsher except for the Kev. The record was down to him in the first place wasn't it, one of his productions? Have records like the Flasher, Dobie Gray Out On The Floor, Invitations Ski-ing In The Snow really had a bigger influence on the scene than say John And The Weirdest, The Fidels etc???? Maybe soul source should do it's own top 500? There's a fair representation of all the years on the scene on here, from the early days right through to today.

Mistura With Lloyd Michells - The Flasher has this really had a bigger influence on the scene than the 300+ records listed after it Has it had any influence at all....I doubt it The list is basically one persons opinion and if we all sat down and wrote 500 records that we think have influenced the scene I dare say we would all have a different 500. Got to agree with Playfair, Stafford and the 80's era in general grossly ignored and under represented. You only have to look at playlist to see the influence the period still has on the scene.

not that I'm aware of he didn't. Harry Starr as far as I know cut two disc, the IPG (If This Is Goodbye & Tears) and the End (Step Into My World/Another Time Another Place) release and there is also the unreleased track that came out on the End Story CD release, Live It Up if memory serves me correctly. There could well be other unreleased tracks in the End vaults????

I actually don't think I have this anywhere Simon? I will have a look. I'm sure Andy R told me that the released version is just a faded out version of the longer stereo mix and not a different take in any way, could be totally wrong and talking complete boll*cks of course Been a while since I heard it.
