  1. Both Mark Bicknell and myself used to play WIBS out back in the 80's.
  2. if your a reasonable person/dealer as you claim then you will have no problem waiting a few extra days until the package can be declared lost "officially". Then Cookie can both make her claim against the post office and refund you and everyone will be happy. I don't think Cookie is being unreasonable in asking you to wait until the 18th, four days isn't going to hurt anything is it?
  3. I reckon both the first press and simply ran out of green ink. Of course I could be wrong Seem to see more yellow these days.
  4. if your not a real DJ does that then make you a bootleg DJ
  5. Only just read this and glad you daughter is going to be ok!
  6. stick to your guns
  7. tell the tw*t to f*ck off regarding postage, makes no difference to him how it's sent, it's extra out of your pocket. Tell ebay and him that you will do nothing until it is officially lost by the post office (18th). Ebay and paypal should back you as you've done as described on sale, well done extra really by sending recorded at your own expense. It might be the xmas and new year period that's holding it up, had a couple myself delayed.
  8. depends how far you want to travel but within probably an hour of you you have the Wolverhampton all-night and Lifeline all-nighter. Thorne next weekend, plenty of biggies and rarities there. Mick H is out and about most weeks DJing. There's always something if you look hard enough.
  9. your kidding you didn't answer the first part about demos
  10. it's nothing to do with copyright playing material to an audience, you need the entertainment (or whatever it is) license for that. The copyright is to stop you making multiple copies.
  11. I think the copyright laws are to stop you copying material not playing, if it was even the playing of a cd would be in breach of copyright laws.
  12. well how do you class the selling of a demonstration copy of a record then and how do you know that who ever playing the carver of an unissued track hasn't had permission?
  13. in my box at moment is a demo of Al Williams Try Them.
  14. what difference does the postage make? you paid extra out of your own pocket I take it so it doesn't affect him. Just tell ebay what you said on here and get in touch with post office. Is he a UK buyer? He could be trying it on, received the record and said he hasn't and gets a refund, wins both ways while you lose out twice.
  15. there's three or 4 grapevine or kent singles in my playbox sometimes.
  16. different scenario Bazza and don't think anyone has said you can't cut unissued material that has only ever seen the light of day on a cd? Know many who do and have and I don't see why anyone shopuild have an issue with this. Same with Kent/Grapevine that release unissued material, get it played.
  17. another one
  18. ah but some boots/pressings are rare
  19. you obviously don't go to the right venues Bazza. I hear expensive and top dollar records every where I go as well as all the indemanders etc. Mick H plays the Classics as does I think Ted Massey, one DJ on your door stop and t'other not far away. I think I heard the Cautions twice over Christmas and I only went to two venues.
  20. well if you can get me another for £80 I'll buy 'em all day at that price.

After two successful weekenders Lifeline is returning to the Ye Old Bell in 2008 for the third (this will also be Lifelines 4th Anniversary). The weekender will be held on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd of February 2008. The line up will again feature some of the world's premier Soul DJ's. As well as the usual Lifeline residents, Butch, Andy Dyson, Mick H, Chalky, Cliff Steele and Soul Sam, guests including Dean Anderson, Kitch, Steve Guanori, Tim Brown, Arthur Fenn & Andy Whitmore and others to be confirmed, will be spinning the finest soul from the 60's and 70's with maybe the odd 80's and funk flavoured discs also getting an airing. If you're lucky enough to have a room in the Hotel (this is now sold out) the cost remains the same as last year £110, still a bargain in our opinions to spend a weekend listening to the finest soul spinners spinning the finest soul on vinyl (or styrene) in the world! If you haven't yet paid up (and some of you haven't yet) balances are now due so get your monies in or you could lose your room if we don't hear from you. Any problems get in touch!!! For those who are unfortunately not in the Hotel venue further accommodation can be found in Retford. For further information visit https://www.4hotels.co.uk/uk/retford.html for further details or there is a Travel Lodge just 2 or 3 miles away at Blyth Services which many have used in the past with good rates, the address is Travelodge Blyth, A1 (M) Moto Service Area A1(M), Hilltop Roundabout, Notts, Blyth, S81 8HG telephone number is 0871 666 4 333 for reservations or you can do it all online https://www.travel-lodge-travel-lodge.co.uk/ just do a search once on their page for Blyth. Weekender passes are available at the price they have been for the last two years of £35. This entitles you to all the music sessions which start at 12 noon both days and run right through until 6am on the Saturday and Sunday mornings. There is also a Sunday afternoon session to finish off the weekend. But these passes are strictly limited and are selling well!! Saturday night passes are available at £15 and again these are strictly limited with some having been sold already. If you wish to attend the Saturday night only give one of us a shout. The £15 admission will get you in from 6pm Saturday night until 6am Sunday morning. Anyone wishing to attend on the Friday night only please get in touch with one of us. The afternoon sessions on the Friday and Saturday have in the past been thrown open to anyone who wishes to do a set and those in attendance have had the pleasure to listen to some superb sets from each and everyone who volunteered. The same will happen again in February so anyone who wishes to play a few tunes to an appreciative audience. All afternoon sets are spoken for except for the hours 1pm till 5pm on the Friday afternoon, so if you want to play a few records then juts bring a box along or get in touch with one of us. For further details and info, please contact: Andy - Dysonsoul@aol.com or tel: 01302 744927 or Mick - Trentsoul@aol.com or tel: 07968 030464 or Chalky - crosseyedbear@sky.com or tel: 07743 863523
  22. I agree Nick. I'm a punter as well not just a collector etc and I do care about what I go out to listen to. If a venue is going to take my hard earned money then they should at least have the decency to tell me that the guest DJ is going to play a set consisting of 90% boots. Like Dave said earlier it's the promoter's (not all of them btw) who don't care.
  23. can anyone get the listen again facility? keep getting error message?
