Polythene Sleeves
I'm looking for polythene sleeves for 7" sleeves, the tight fitting ones not the ones about 10mm or so bigger. Anyone any ideas?

Eddie Parker- Love You Baby French Googa Mooga Release
I think you should put that scanner to work and do a topic on all the deadwax stamps etc. Questions asked all the time so could be a good reference source for some, especially if all in one place. Great work btw Roger!

New World: We´re Gonna Make It

The Begining Of The Rare Soul Scene
Your probably right but many records are now described as you traditional northern soul sound but records like the two Harry mentioned seem to break the mould at the back end of the 70's early 80's, think thats what he's getting at, how the style changed from up tempo dancers in the main to more and more records in the vein of Cecil Washington and John and the Weirdest....thats how I see the question anyway!

The Begining Of The Rare Soul Scene
I think Harry means that the type of records mentioned were not your usual traditional northern soul that had preceded them and the tempo and pace was different and more akin to what was to come from Stafford an d beyond. I've always considered both to be scene changing records.

Soul In South Africa
Had a look at the Righteous Brothers - Souled Out lp I've got and on the rear of the cover it's stampedSpringbok Radio Record Library and again underneath Springbok Radio Discoteek. Also the number 40474 stamped on it and that is alkso written on the record label itself.

Ditalians / Traditions
anyone got a soundfile of the Traditions - forever and Always on Saxony.

Cecil Washington & Vicky Baines
maybe totally wrong here but didn't the record (The Group that is not Vicki Baines) cause a stir at the time of it's recording, something to do with the racial tensions of the time?

Cecil Washington & Vicky Baines
13,000 rings a bell but it was a long time ago the conversation, amidst the usual boll*cks you talk at an all-nighter or where ever it was

Cecil Washington & Vicky Baines
dunno if true or not or just an urban myth but soemone once said they saw the tax returns or summat like for the label and there were thousands of I Don't Like To Lose pressed. There was also another where they were all in a lock up/garage in Detroit but think that one's been proved to be a myth?

Cecil Washington & Vicky Baines
wasn't the trouble with Group feat Cecil because a second copy found and was uncovered straight away, Richard vowed never to play it again or summat like? The Group feat Cecil later on a Soul Supply boot, white label along with Nomads, Ellusions and another that escapes me right now.

Parliaments, Cabell
I've known for getting on two years what it is as have others and I know a fair few dealers and collectors who have been looking high and low for saome time for copies and yet its still a rarity. The test of time will prove whether it stays rare or not, you either take a chance on one now or wait and hope they turn up in quantity but there's always the chance they won't. If that proves to be the case the price can only go up.
