Think the last Jerry & Uniques I saw was I think £300. If you can get Bobby Valentin fro £300 let alone £175 you'll be doing ok. Very indemand and quite a few ask about this but can't seem to find one.
  2. Those who attend and demand the oldies are just plain selfish and show a complete lack of disregard and respect IMHO. They should respect the fact that the night is advertised as a night to hear something different. Stick to what you believe and advertise, if you lose a few punters so what, if you can live with that it won't matter. I bet they will be back before long though. It would appear that your message over the mic might have done the trick though. Good luck with the venue.

forgot about that on the flip

Had the Grapevine copy years ago and from what I can rememeber (not a lot) it was ok sound wise. Never listened to the Sevens/Goldmine one.
  5. Bobby Bennett I've seen listed for between 700 and 1000, not sure about auctions. Rooisevelt Matthews various prices from £400/£450 upwards. One one bit cheaper. Mirasound acetate, depends how good it is I suppose. If I've heard it I can't recall it.
  6. Definately exists, good mate of mine has it and I won't publicly uncover it either.
  7. unissued? was released as far as I know....forget details off hand, will tell you later when have chance to check.

Soul City, great taste Di Been spinning this out now and then for few years.
  9. I can only repeat what Pete says and that I'm humbled to even get a mention. I wish I knew half of some of those mentioned, still a pupil as far as I'm concerned never mind a professor!!! Lots to learn still.
  10. it is an unissued track, or was until released on Grapevine. Should be able to get it on Grapevine for a tenner I would have thought.

I looked at the list of friends and thought the same!! I did see the re-issue for sale somewhere else but can't remember where, i'll have a google later. Did know where there was one for sale but dunno if it's still there.
  12. better version by far IMHO. check your PM's.
  13. Ey up Molly, hope your well. First recording was by Kim Weston in June '64 and was unreleased on vinyl. Recorded a few months later in Dec '64 by the Supremes and released on the album you state, I Hear A Symphony.
  14. some other info about vinyl.... Usually pressed by Compression Moulding which allows the label to be an integral part of the pressing itself. This process also requires that there be extra material which spills out the sides of the press, therefore this extra material is routinely ground up and re-used. Because vinyl does not re-heat and re-cool to a smooth, glossy surface, the excessive use of re-grind mixed in with Virgin Vinyl can account for the inherently noisy surface of even unplayed Mint examples of the cheap pressings that some record companies used. Noise can be seen AND HEARD by looking at and/or playing the un-grooved surface of the lead-in and lead-out areas. If this area looks or sounds grainy, then the grooves will also have some of this grainy background sound. The stampers used for the compression moulding process will start to break down after only 1,000 pressings because they are forced to expand and contract when heated by steam at the start of the pressing cycle and then cooled to solidify the record. Some companies routinely overused their stampers. The 90's is I think the first time I recall seeing one of the gold presses.
  15. Think the first time this saw the light of day on any kinda release apart form tapes etc was the LP Rob and Chris Marriott did back in the 80's.

Personally wouldn't go that far, sounds too white for me and too "country" (if thats the right description) at times. Average record IMHO.

I think it's worth about £800 personally, but it's been fetching sometimes twice that.

I've seen this for as low as £50, various copies at around £75 and copies up to £150. It has been re-issued with couple of other edits HERE He's also got his own Myspace site (presume it's him) HERE
  19. than money sense more! rearrange to make another sentence

Tracky Club had some Tuesday or Wednesday night sessions towards the end as well Malc. We used to put lps on and be entertained by Bub, better than most comedians he was. Used to have right laugh.
  22. those who have it have had permission to play it from Rob. He owns the rights I think.
  23. would have thought the Volumes at least 400 or 500 quid. Superlatives, the Dynamics release is the one fetching around £100. Seen it sell for £150. The Westbound release should be just a cheapie.
  24. It's unreleased.
