  1. got some spins mid 80's/Stafford era.
  2. I think it's worth the money, hardly ever seen for sale, last one was on e-bay and went for close to four figures if memory serves me right. Cracking record too.
  3. by the lp...cost you a lot less (£30/£40) and you get the bonus of several other tracks too
  4. David Blatt who sang with the Empires replaced Traynor on lead in '63. Blatt became Jay Black apparently. Which Empires not sure. Plenty of info on the web about the group, just google the group name.
  5. think the last one I saw other than auction was around £800, can't recall which take it was. Did JM auction one for around a four figure sum?
  6. Chalky

    The 'q'

anyone got scans of both presses?
  7. I'd like to see proof of it being '65 Just checked R&B Indies and it lsits the Candi label as being 1961-1963 and the Chavis label as 1962. Soul Harmony lists the Matadors as 1963 and the Empires on Candi as '62 and '63 and on Chavis as '62. They could be wrong of course.
  8. yes, one with backing one without, sure I've posted both in refosoul in the past.
  9. only got the Have Mercy On me side Ady.....thought I had other side too
  10. I'd be interested in seeing the list Pete.
  11. not watched the clip but presme it's the one from The Beat, 60's music show....all out on DVD. Some great acts on 'em.
  12. Used to love the record when covered as Little Henry (I presume after Henry Atkinson who discovered it) by Tim. Soon got sick of hearing it as other copies turned up. How many copies, who knows, there was the I think 25 count that the guy was said to have had and copies have been for sale but still a rare record, approx 15 showing on popsike with the last one $2300 last August. The price did drop to around the mid 100's at one time. No matter what anyone says about the record it's a guaranteed floor filler so maybe thats why dj's (I presume it's dj's paying these prices) want it.....no imagination
  13. Vocal just the Supremes Di. The band track was released on Standing In The Shadows Of Motown 2004.
  14. no need Bob beat me too it
  15. DC SOUL GEORGIA SOUL I'll have a look see what others I've got when I get laptop out or get home.
  16. Could be wrong but Matadors is I think '63. There was alos three or four groups using the same name or variations.
  17. Margie Hendrix a few hundred, you got to be kidding. Seen it for around and just over a ton but few hundred, no way!!! Raeletts no way near as good in my opinion (each to their own as they say)and shouldn't be played at a northern venue IMHO
  18. The Greatest? Not IMHO, far from it but he was an excellent showman and knew how to work a crowd.
  19. whoever Livisoul is on youtube has got it wrong, it is Harry Starr.
  20. Jesus, how much??? Crazy!!! £30/£40 isn't it...unless I've missed summat too.
  21. I think I've seen it listed in the label discography once upon a time but I've never seen one.
  22. It is Cressa Steve and there's also Martha Starr, same artist if you ask me and virtually same song except for a break in one. Ward Burton, dunno why the price questioned? damn rare record and worth it IMHO.
  23. It's Harry Starr and it's on End 1129, the flip to Another Time Another Place. See it about for around £250.
  24. I can't think of another off top of me head (is there one?) apart from Garnett Mimms lp track. Played it out a few times, great record.
