  1. I said I thought it was a good price and I don't have one
  2. It's a great record but I stopped wanting one when the price went into three figures.
  3. yep
  4. agree with you mate.
  5. ey up Nige mate, hope your well. I've the Al Williams Try Them in my play box and I've played it out. There are at least two Kent in there at the minute as well. If it's unreleased get it played.
  6. magic record IMHO, been one of my spins out for last couple of years.
  7. I thought about the 18L one Ged but realised there is no seperation so ordered a couple of the 9L 100 capacity ones to try out.
  8. been looking for something to store some records in and came cross these from the really useful box company..... https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/h...09_0litreXL.php https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/h...18_0litreXL.php https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/h...35_0litreXL.php
  9. if you watch an item you get a reminder
  10. maybe everyone should be made to use a snipe tool, no stupid bidding days before it ends that way.
  11. the other one is the same as the one top left only it has red above and below the name
  12. here's scans of three.....
  13. I can understand where you are all comijg from but all I was doing was disagreeing with the statement that the list reflected the different aspects of the scene. You could easilky knock up a cd with say 15 wigan and earlier and 15 from the 80's to nowadays discoveries (60's that is). There's enough wigan type oldies mentioned already so here's 15 from me, all easily available via cyberspace which represent the last 20 years IMHO. Jesse James - Love Is Alright Ann Robinson (not) - World Of Happiness Mello Souls - We Can MAke It Eddie Whitehead - Just Your Fool Johnny Praye - Too Much Love Parliaments - This Is My Rainy Day Eddie Parker - I Need A True Love Inspirations - Treat Myself To A New Love Emory & Dynamics - Lets Take A Look Diane Lewis - You Ain't Got A Chance Stormie Wynters - Lifesaver Ad-Libs - You'll Always Be In Style Tommy Ridgely - My Love Gets Stronger James Lately - Love Friends & Money Saints - I'll Let You Slide
  14. cheers but still not received. Maybe yahoo acting up.
  15. yes they did get me hooked in the first place and I still love them. Don't get me wrong the cd is an excellent list of tracks for someone who doesn't know the scene at all but the original post said the list reflects the different aspects of the soul scene when it doesn't.
  16. I know full well they are not oldies to someone who hasn't heard them but the list isn't a true reflection of the northern soul scene. There's nothing in there that list genuinely reflect the discoveries made in the stafford era, records from this era are very promoinent in many dj's playlists/sets. There's little in the list that reflects the crossover and modern scenes either..
  17. I've checked...nothing yet
  18. I'm here Joan, I was dragged kicking and screaming to the shops Flynny is right it was Gwen Owens and the Velgirls.
  19. anyone send me the flip?
  20. thanks mate. wills end johnny m on to you, the one I already have. If I get a better quality file that will follow.
  21. no offence but you state you reflect all aspects of the scene with your list but all that list reflects to me is your bog standard oldies night.
  22. if for the sake of arguement the digital age wass embraced...do we have digital dj's too afterall there would be no need for the likes of Butch, Andy Dysons, Soul Sam & Gingers. If it did happen I think it would probably see the end of any discoveries as I doubt the collector DJ's who keep the newies scene alive probably wouldn't bother anymore with the djing and juist return to collecting only.
  23. Why not? Kids are finding and getting into vinyl again, admittedly not on the scale of years gone by but vinyl sales are rising amongst kids. It's the idea of actually having something to hold and cherish rather than a virtual track that is starting to appeal. MP3s, ipods etc are here to stay but vinyl hasn't yet gone away.
  24. Can someone, anyone please send me good quality mp3's of the following New Silhouettes - We Belong Together - Jamie Johnny Mckinney (Johnny Mckinley) - If You Leave Me - Clock Bobby Wade - Flame In My Heart - Big Jim please send to chalky.soul@googlemail.com
  25. we did have an all-nighter planned at Sheridans a few years ago where all records had to be worht £50 or less to be played, book price that is not the price some might have paid 20 years earlier for a rarity venue closed and for one reason or another the night never came off.
