  1. about £2600
  2. If same Ian he was from York, Ian O'Hara I think. He is on Soul Source
  3. Isn't it the 45 versions that are dfferent?
  4. I was told they didn't have the rights to use the Soul City name for the recent releases. I'd have my doubts too over the licensing of some of the tracks as well.
  5. we have...a few times went on a stag do once years ago, one lad fell asleep on way home, so his hair went up in smoke Remember at Dome someone with hairy legs in shorts at bar...Andy saw them and whoosh...legs no longer hairy
  6. Although had many good nights at Keele, after the feast of newies we had in the 80's Keele for me was when it started to go backwards musically. Too many "oldies" and repeat plays. I can remember one night I thought there was just one box of 100 or so records for the DJ's to Dj from Was a great record bar though!
  7. The Intensions on Bleulight are the Moneytown group are they not, both discs/labels have George Redman connection, produced/arranged. There is a topic on here somewhere when we discussed this previously.
  8. There's the brains Ian but it's the egos that are the problem...too many will get pushed out of the picture and maybe some egos won't like that. As I said elsewhere too many think only about themselves and their self inflated opinion of themselves and care little about the bigger picture
  9. I agree Steve and you're right not even Lifeline plays just newies. BUT the oldies it does feature tend to be forgotten or the underplayed, of which there are 100's from a fiver/tenner upwards, and not the top 500 you here all the time. People have got to be a little less selfish IMHO and tolerate the tastes of others.
  10. there's a site search bit on every page, try that then you can refine your search to just refosoul
  11. Can you send me the list please Pete?
  12. it has but it has Steve Mancha on the flip, Did My Baby Call.
  13. you can't? what can't you get Ken cause you can get a pretty large number of the catalogue. Stuff like Magic Touch and For Dancers Also cd's are there.
  14. you even have the added bonus that if the track you want isn't on SS you only have to ask and it usually posted in no time at all
  15. I asked the other day that surely there is practically everything that is on soulclub and more on Soul Source in refosoul and in some of the brilliant topics covering labels, cities etc so what has Soul Club got that refosoul and soul source hasn't?
  16. go onto Amazon, find the cd you want, then click on the (for example) 25 new and used. There's an american dealer, caiman-usa, I use him, Kent cds for example just over £8 and delivered within 5 days, cheap postage too. There's another US dealer in there too but I forget the name.
  17. This is the Dennis Brennan group......
  18. saw one last week somewhere on Wee for £50.
  19. whoever got it thinks they have good taste others might and have disagreed
  20. and there endeth the lesson!
  21. it was played at Stafford. I said better records for 25 quid, never mentioned style. Benny Latimore a better record for me as is Jimmy Holiday, there's others that are better records IMHO but I can't be arsed right now. Like John says each to their own
  22. personally think the Trent Sisters is an ok record, nowt special apart from the fact it's ultra rare. It wouldn't get a mention or a look in if it was £25 and not £2.5k. Far better records for £25 IMHO. There was a debate some time ago on here about it. Sure a mod can dig it up.
  23. The other side Gareth, I Can Feel The Tears. Des, don't think I've seen an illegal cd of the USA label let alone a legit one.
