  8. Dunno about a quantity turning up. Personally don't think it's as rare as the figure it's been selling for reflects, that could well be a good reason why it's cropping up for sale, people cashing in maybe?

  10. It states in the sleeve notes of the cd that they went to Ollie McLaughlin and to be safe renamed themselves The Firestones. Sonny is quoted in the notes as saying "man that was a bad experience"............ "he was a real hustler, we couldn't understand where he was going at all. We backed out of there just as soon as we could". There is an unissued cut, You've Got The Power, on the cd from this period.

  13. without looking it books at 350 I think. It's not that well known amongst the dancers but had reactions from lukewarm to plenty of dancers at times. Both sides tip top IMHO.
  14. according to R&B indies, The Snaps (103) and Al Tigro (112). Seems to be a few missing between 103 and 112.

Click the "New Media" button botom of page under the posts, "browse" your PC for the track, click open and then insert, fill in the relevant sections, Artist, Title etc...when your track has uploaded, put a tick in list and then click save at bottom. If you are still struggling give me a call sometime and i'll talk you through it.
  16. Gotta agree with you dave, saw the quote in JM guide and thought little low. I've probably seen more Groovettes in recent times than Bobby Moore for sale I know Andy D played it out on and off for some time now.

  22. The Falcons were essentially two groups, the first breaking up '62 / '63 to be eventually be replaced by the Fabulous Playboys, this is the group the cd is concerned with. This group (The Fab Playboys/Falcons) recorded just once for Lupine, Lonely Nights/Has It Happened To You Yet. All earlier recordings, the ones you are talking about on Lupine were by the previous group which included Wilson Pickett, Mack Rice & Eddie Floyd.

  24. her full name was Barbara Joan Cupchack. According to R&B indies it was owned by Bill Haley, Cuppy Haley (his wife no doubt), Tony Messina and Sonny Cassella.
  25. can't say I've seen one lately other than more recent auction items but over the years it's price has been from the low hundreds up towards a four figure sum.
