  1. It has been a £150 record for years and was in every sales box until recently. £211 about right IMO.
  2. The price has been rising for a while for some reason. Darren Brown sold one for £700…has Butch been reactivating it, barmy price if you ask me.
My second visit and another top night with a great selection from all the Djs. Great friendly crowd as well. A venue highly recommend. Looks like I have to go next month as well Thanks to Simon for his hospitality once more as well.
  3. Really sad. Paul was a gent, really good lad and a big supporter of the rare soul scene. R.I.P. Paul
  4. I love the AP cover up, always have since first hearing it many moons ago. I asked on the discogs page the source linking Al Scott with Allan Scott. It would appear if they have the same surname then that is good enough A member on here has met Al Scott of Genuine fame, before the record was uncovered so didn't know who they were talking to. If he reads this he may comment.
  5. Jeez, Soul Thing, that's just as bad if not worse. If it wasn't so rare it wouldn't have been given a second play
  6. Prestwich one of the places I remember it taking off.....
  7. Last night's show 19th May
  8. It's been around years but it is only in recent times when the quality control department closed that it became a popular play.
  9. Should be in these pages somewhere then
  10. The Allan Scott is cheap. Took years for me to find out what it was, played it out covered up at Lifeline etc.
  11. and one no one else has ever seen
  12. Last nights show (12th May 2022) with me in the studio playing some recent, new and upcoming releases.
  13. John said the same in discussion at Cleethorpes, anything with a copies that weren't selling went in the packs.
  14. The date of 1976 is written on the label. I don't know where whoever entered the date on 45cat got their info from? It is obvious to me what John meant. Probably not the kinda record for 1976 most were looking for I guess.
  15. I think it is referring to it release year although I believe it was from 1978 and not when Sam was playing it. Sam biggie in the 80s, may have been at Snaith in early 80s but certainly getting spins at Rock City.
  16. Whilst I agree in part there are still thousands of quality records that are affordable to the Dj. However most are sheep and have no imagination, most are too idle to go searching and digging, that is why the Northern scene has become so stale and retro. Dancers are no better, afraid to dance to something they don't know....gods know how they went on at Wigan and such places...I think I know the answer to that
  17. The GW number is the master/matrix number, used by the pressing plant. They aren’t Golden World labelled releases, the label is Ric Tic only and the catalogue number is the Ric Tic number although they are the same number. They were pressed at ARP. The rest of the releases were pressed at Columbia and RCA and carry their master number, ZTSC etc.
  18. It is a Golden World Recording, the early Ric Tic tie in with the GW numbering system. The later Rics Tics used the Columbia and RCA master number, ZTSC etc. Other groups of labels also utilised one numbering system across the label and subsidiaries.
  19. East Coast Test Press. Bell Sound stamp and Cameo labels used but reversed obviously to utilise the blank side. Anyone have the delta number of the west coast press? Both sides
  20. Never issued in the USA. The 1st one, white label promo that escaped is West Coast pressed by Monarch.
  21. Just incase you missed this great release, still some copies left. Get one before they are all gone.
  22. You are probably right it is a tad harsh. At the end of the day it's each to their own. As long as everyone enjoy's what they do then everything is fine. As I said not for me and I would generally avoid that kind of gig.
