I'm not surprised
-
Well if they play that Wicky Wacky shite you posted then it will be a scene I no longer wish to be part of Anyway wouldn't it be a funk scene then not a northern scene
-
I agree Pete, I'm still trying to listen for/find the ingredients that make it a northern monster
-
Used to be big for Rob Marriott (What's Your Game) and Keb (?) I think before him. There are two different takes of Baby. I'll post 'em later if no one else does. Will set you back a nice 4 figure sum for a copy. 2 maybe 3k???
-
Pretty sure Mick H has this too.
-
I've no wish to hear the out and out funk or messy stuff you refer to, just wondering what they were thats all.
-
how about letting us know what the offending tracks are? You can never please everyone all the time and you can't expect every record to be to your liking
-
Yes Joan it was different soul clubs and thats why it worked probably. Same club week in week out would give you less choice, who would decide which DJ's merit the opportunity to DJ at a weekly event. Would it get the support of the various promoters and DJ's who would be pushed out of the picture if their venue(s) suffered? Said it before too many don't care about the bigger picture or the greater good of the scene just themselves for there to be any serious amount of unity on the scene. Said it earlier there is plenty of choice already on the all-nighter scene with several well run and well attended all-nighters.
-
who and where Ken? Personally I am by and large with you. Some soul with a funky edge isn't out of place at times but out and out Funk.........
-
There was at least one all-nighter every week. These sometimes ran for two days mind
-
I know what some of the titles are and assume what some of the others are but has anyone got the list with the titles etc? Seb?
-
can someone post soundfiles of the mimit and keymen tracks? can't find mine at the minute
-
are there any other letters used on any releases other than "F"? Off top of me head think it's Okeh or something like that use a letter to tell which take was used.....A = first take, B = second take etc.

The last three I've seen sold, dealer to buyer have been more like £500. Two of those were sold for that price, the other had that on the sleeve but a deal may have been done. I think the cheapest I've seen it since it rose in popularity has been £350.

Suspicion has to be up there
-
The scene doesn't need a weekly all-nighter at the same venue. The scene already has several well run all-nighters that more or less cater for everyone. I also doubt you would get 1500 bodies into an all-night venue every week. The hard core all-nighter crowd is probably 3/400.

what are you interested in? the vast majority of the stock on the site are generally unplayed. The rarer stuff in picks and predictions for example are graded. You can always get in touch via the website to Andy directly and he will be more than happy to help you with any queries you have. Alternatively drop Andy an e-mail directly @ Dysonsoul@aol.com

Don't think there is a boot of Johnnie, wouldn't surprise me if someone has booted the Kent cd version that was credited to Audrey but in fact more than likely the writer Sharon McMahon.
