  2. They started under the After Dark banner in 1982, I do have the exact date in a spread sheet. I have flyers for 1984 as well and their 10th anniversary bash was there as well.
  3. one on Highland from 62 with M in a circle
  4. I thought it was earlier than mid 65 when the stamp came in
  5. I believe they did only press vinyl, I just used them as an example, there were others too. Strange if it is a Monarch press there is no MR.
  6. Other companies besides Monarch used the delta numbering system, Alco being one
  7. Last nights show, 23rd June
  8. Like Dave says US and foreign sellers will base their price on recent history, not the Brits. If something sells for 500 they want £1k, £2k they want £3.5k. There is no rhyme or reason to many sales prices and the buyer is falling for it. Either a lack of knowledge, can’t be bothered to do a bit of work or too much money….or all three.
  9. As Frankie C says, I don’t think a comment that gives some sensible discussion or advice can’t harm. Comments relating to 30 or 40 years ago shouldn’t be allowed.
  10. I've been reading that one of Soul and Disco's greatest producers, arrangers, writer and musician has passed away. Anyone into Soul music and indeed Disco will not have been touched by the man's music. R.I.P. Patrick Adams, thank you for the music. https://www.soultracks.com/story-patrick-adams-dies
  11. As the nights begin to draw in (sorry)....On the night of the Summer Solstice I thought I'd put together a mix of some 70s and 80s "Modern" Soul gems whilst filing some Lps away after some recent trips out. All from Lps, they might have come out on 45 also but I don't collect them. All dancers, nothing terribly rare or anything obscure, just some feel good summer soul music. Hope you enjoy. 14. Thursday nights show, 16th June
Thank you to Chris for asking me to do a guest spot last night, thanks to Simon for talking me into it, he keeps dragging me out of retirement Had a great night with a busy dance floor for just about everything that was played. Nice to meet Alan Jenkins and his lovely missus and have a good ole chat. Always good to catch up with the rest of the gang. A fair few regulars missing due to Blackpool but it didn't affect numbers with a full house which was great to see. Here's what I played, might be a couple more so missing as 22 seems a little low, maybe some were longer than I thought Roughly in order but again not 100% sure. 15. Tomangoes isn't shuffling round a few bars, totally unreleased material. But even with the deferent takes the artist is getting some money and due recognition, they love it.
  16. be sure to say hello Ken
  17. I probably expect too much when I go out. I do try and be very choosey now
  18. I've not seen the look a like before, the other is certainly a boot
  19. Terribly sad. For all its faults it is a scene I love dearly, I hate to see the way it is portrayed and hijacked.
  20. When did I say that? I've been out twice a month since started new job
  21. What reissue? Thought they were bootlegs?
  22. 99.9% are not new to the scene though and the record is on so many Djs playlists. Each to their own at the end of the day, I was expressing my opinion on a forum for discussion at the end of the day.
  23. Let me think about it………err no . You’ll be fine mate.
  24. Well I’m glad I’m not following Alan Looking forward to the night and spinning a few again. We best get there early Simon
