  1. Cheers. They are instrumentals of course but if they were a true instrumental I think we'd have a lot more going on, extra fills from the drummer etc rather than the laying down of a tightly scripted backing track. Think I read by 1964 the musicians and the artists were working seperately so yes probably 1963 was the beginning of the end for the full studio.
  2. Who is the major compiler just to add some context to your answer. Isn’t 1964 when the step from recording as one in the studio began to come to an end. like Ken I wouldn’t class the backing track as a proper instrumental, just the same as the isolated vocal isn’t acapella
  3. Even if they are they only last so long before new ones need making. But taking all assumptions into account, you have to assume they also have old stock of labels which i doubt very much.
  4. They never will either. Everything is different, paper, inks, vinyl, printing methods etc etc….. They might get close but something will give it away. If they are unopened stock they will look like new just like when the lot from the owners estate was found. Everyone was saying all the releases were fake then. Every chance they sat on a box or two waiting for the price to rise.
  5. Shan’t miss them a second time. See you there.
  6. I'm sure it was played at one of the Lifeline Weekenders? Extremely rare.
  7. Not sure, there are conflicting accounts, some say not and performed as Deliliah Moore after a break and marrying Gerald Moore. She was however in the Triumphs, not seem much to suggest Delores was the one in the Triumphs.
  8. is it a mistake or a rebranding attempt that failed? After all they pressed it twice with different labels, plus the different presses with the Admirations credit? labels reversed as well, one big mess up with that press

  12. I can convert the tape for you
  13. Knew it was Keb first, didn't his then girlfriend buy it for him? All good here mate, due a catch up sometime soon.
  14. No but that's where they came from
  15. Keb as far as I know, think he may have got Gary's?. I guess we will never know the full amount found but it was well into three figures, enough has been said about the find in the past. I don't remember Clarkie playing it at all TBH.
  16. It was Richard Searling's "Embers - Playing The Part Of A Fool" cover up at Wigan. Gary Rushbrooke got one shortly after. Keb then played it at Stafford. Few turned up? 100s more like. The finder got the whole remaining stock from the estate of whoever owned the label.
  17. wouldn't mind the LP if anyone has one
  18. err NO! I don't promote anymore or Dj but if I did on the basis of this topic alone I reckon you've blown your chances with me
  19. you wouldn't Dj anywhere I promoted playing them If you can't afford Salvadors or Alfie then play summat else, enough others got the real thing, no wonder this scene is regressing and has become stale and boring.
  20. The kind of venues I attend aren’t usually one where divs frequent. Word of mouth is amongst those I know and trust with a similar outlook to me.
  21. It is generally word of mouth that persuades me to go anywhere. I rarely believe some of the hype promoted today.
  22. I doubt anyone else asks. Just search on line for images. If the owner can be found then ask.
  23. Timi Yuro covered as Cookie Jackson? Are their ears painted on, sound nothing like each other and someone probably uncovered it on first the play.
  24. No Patrice Holloway - Stevie?
  25. Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul ™ 30th June 2022 with Karl White aka Chalky and Andy Tats Taylor in the studio celebrating the 100 Club, the longest running all-niter in the UK, maybe the world? Celebrating the music spun by Randy, Tony Rounce, Mick Smith, Ian Clark, Tony Ellis, Terry Davis, Roger Stewart, Pete Widd, the gaffer Ady Croasdell, Shifty, Greg McAlinney and of course Butch. Look out for part two in a few weeks.
