  1. He clearly states what it is.
  2. Plenty of topics on the Volcanoes and Arctic if you search. This one HERE should answer your question.
  3. looking at popsike it was/is an ep https://www.popsike.c...0267208753.html here's the blurb.... Artist: H.B. BARNUM Title: The Great H.B. Barnum Tracks: How Many More Times?, It Hurts Too Much To Cry, Take Me Out To The Ball Game, Coming 'Round the Mountain Label: RCA Victor RCX-7147 As you'll see from the photo, this is guaranteed to be the ORIGINAL 1964 UK 1st pressing. A simply incredible item that just never gets offered for sale - especially in this condition - any fan of H.B. Barnum or Northern Soul music in general will simply have to have this beautiful EP in their collection!!!!
  4. just found the topic, you are right three designs. Still, I wouldn't call three a plethora either Previous topic HERE
  5. Think the one on the Essential Modern Soul Selection cd from Goldmine might be the one with strings.....just ripping it now to iTunes.
  6. can someone post a decent quality soundfile of the one with strings and things, youtube usually sh*te quality. I've no doubt heard both but never took any notice.A soundfile of the Morning Glory one would be nice too.
  7. wouldn't call two designs a plethora
  8. Hi Carl thanks for that. Anyone got a sound file. Got it on a tape somewhere in the garage I think but which box...... Called into his shop a few years ago in Cornwall and had a chat and catch up. I was supposed to be getting a load of stuff about the Winding Wheel all-nighters he ran with Dave Thorley off him to borrow for an article but never got round to it, maybe this year. He hasn't changed, still looks the same.
  9. Usually around the £800 mark, give or take a bit when I've seen it sold it the past. Fantastic record, both sides. Sounds a bit like David Ruffin the lead.
  10. I'll watch it too, f*ck me its a story with some northern in it, hardly end of the world. Doesn't mean I don't care if I do watch it. Certainly won't slag something off I haven't seen. I'll reserve judgement till I have seen it. Like Steve G says people have been milking the scene for years with all sorts of tat so can't see a film making much more difference
  11. Gotta agree fantastic act, can't wait!!!
  12. Surprised Jerry never been on here. He's on KTF and some other mailing lists etc.
  13. the one I've posted as the 1964 take is as you say Brett the same as the one in the ebay listing. So can someone post for sure the 1964 release (Brett?) to compare please.
  14. Know mate I'll amend the info on the 1970 to state it's the lp take and hope someone can post the 1970 take. I will look for the download or at the listing to see if the soundfile still there. Yeah I agree its a re-issue but not in the same class as a Grapevine reissue though....
  15. Yeah know mate, just though it would make interesting reading for some.
  16. you can't blame the seller, he put a good scan up there where you could clearly see the damage to the label and he also states its a re-issue.
  17. another link HERE
  18. don't think he can explain it Pete as most was written after 1960 so not past the 50 year time line.
  19. it is a legit re-release by the label though and not some reissue label. Can someone post in refosoul the definite lp take and the 1970 take to clear this up. I was sure I downloaded the 1970 take from an ebay listing but could be wrong now. It could well be the LP take although I've never taken a soundfile from the lp as I've never had it.
  20. hi Brett. The one I posted is the soundfile from the one on eBay so definately the 1970 release.
  21. Got to agree with you there Rich.
  22. I can remember the show but not what the show was. Phil should be able to tell us if he reads this.
  23. sorry Ted it's me, thought you was referring to a record he had covered up as Time Yuro....think I need some sleep
  24. Which was that one Ted? Can remember his Judy Clay (Abracadabra) c/u. George Pepp (My First Lonely Night) c/u Trying now to remember what his June Jackson & The Hearts (You'll Break My Heart In Two) c/u actually is Was the Tommy Navarro that started this topic cover up title I Love You So?
  25. I doubt there is enough chemicals left in the paint once it has properly cured/dried to do any damage. Most modern paints are pretty safe these days (paints for everyday use off the shelf) and many of the dangerous chemicals no longer used (wouldn't advise drinking it though ). It would probably need something to react with as well to give off any fumes, i.e. excessive heat etc.. Many of the chemicals in paint evaporate in drying. I used to run a paint shop some of the paints we used could kill you in 20 minutes if didn't use ventilators, masks etc. My varnished wooden box isn't lined and it is 25 years old not done any damage to any records.
