don't forget you can search by either title or artist, once you start to type in the search box you will see a little blue timer going round at the end of the search box, refosoul is searching for suggestions, it really doesn't take long and if it matches what you are typing it will throw up (not literally) the matching suggestions. Refosoul really is a great resource, far more comprehensive than youtube and if it isn't there simply ask and it will no doubt be posted in a short time. Youtube clips make the place look untidy to me and are often slow to load where as refosoul is practically instant. You can play the refosoul clip either in the window you are viewing or a seperate stand alone tab, there will be two "play" links to choose form, have a play around in there and get used to it Try posting a couple of tracks in one of the audio topics, 60's soul Sunday, crossover Friday or even this one

The white card topic threw up the idea of a topic where we can add every resource for the collector and DJ, all in one topic. Time and time again someone asks for info on where to get something particular to take care of their valuable records. Could Paper/card sleeves, stylus, decks, cases so on and so on. So add you links to resources you think fellow anoraks, collectors, dj's and promoters might benefit from.

Hi Julie, Gerri Granger is there... GERRI GRANGER - I GO TO PIECES - If you search refosoul, it will give you suggestions, click on the relevant suggestion, the track will open. Scroll right down to the bottom and click on the link (see next line) it will read Copy and paste this clip into a forum post (click to activate) Once you click on this it will open up a little more with a link of to the track, click on this once, it will highlight copy the link and then simply paste it into the topic in question.

Simon why not view refosoul in a second window, it is what I do, and I presume you have youtube open in a seperate window? Just have two soul source pages open I simply search a track and it is there, play it and copy the link at the bottom of the page....really is easy.

what is up with refosoul to get your track across to everyone, most if not all the tracks on youtube are in refosoul. Refosoul is a great resource members on here spend hours adding to and it is a waste not to use it.....IMHO

the thing is you can't mention the record is a boot or it is removed, that is why they say re-issue. 2nd issue if you don't know the facts could be misleading, I'd never use the term on ebay, can give the impression it is a legit second issue.

One about 6 months ago on eBay $316, it is on popsike. I have seen it for as much as £800 over here in the past, not sure about a current price.

I wasn't knocking you or Butch for this, What I was saying Maria was that many Soul Nights, local or otherwise have some of the best DJ's on (I used Boomerang as an example and if you read what I said correctly I also said similar events) and because some won't have to go far to hear a top drawer DJ then this will have a bearing on whether or not someone decides to travel to an all-nighter or not, as in the case next weekend, not, I don't need to, Butch, Arthur and of course yourself can satisfy all my musical needs at a soul night. 5 hours of quality soul music, no driving so I can have a few pints, mints, cakes and whatever else you have on offer on the door and be home by 1.30am I also agree some of Butch's soul nights sets are his best. Would you or anyone else choose an all-nighter 150 miles away or go and listen to what is on offer at your local soul night, especially when the likes of Butch are doing two hours, or any other top DJ for that matter? I think not

I've played it out a few times in the past, gets a few good comments but very few dancers, it is one of those that is hard work and hard to sell. Was £150 not too long ago, for some reason the price has dropped a lot.

whatever it is worth it is rarer than quite a few £1000+ records I can think of. Still got a tape somewhere from the 80's with it on off either Derek Greenhoff or Steve Owen, one of them had it.

Most of the comments I have made are my opinion on the whole. I am certainly not closed to anything and listen and collect all sorts but I still think by and large the majority of people who attend an all-nighter prefer and want 60's. I've seen it happen at many venues plenty of times when 70's and funkier stuff programmed (especially when too much in one go) the floor does thin out and I also listen to what people tell me. All-nighters are by and large for the majority not the minority but it does appear some can't accept that. Can you point out the post where I said people don't want funk edged stuff, I remember saying I had no wish to hear endless amounts of it but can't remember saying no one wanted none of it or dismissing the whole genre totally?

you do seem to talk out of your arse at times why don't you venture to some of the rare soul allnighters and listen to what is played before making ill informed postings on here. How do you know that no new records are being played if you don't attend the nighters, how do you know what is being played and what is? you have said yourself you don't attend rare soul all-nighters. As others have said can you tell us who these DJ's on the rare soul scene who are from the Mod scene/background are?
