I take it you didn't include yourself in the oh so knowledgeable ones from back in the day, Frank Wilson from back in the days of the Casino And half the crap played back in the day wouldn't get near a turntable today
  2. think the last few I've seen sold for cash (not auction) have been around the £700 mark.

  11. Great days indeed Joan. No one gave a f*ck back then and everyone over did everything Program for the very first one......magic line up of acts, as were all of the weekenders
  12. Nothing to worry about and wasn't aimed at you personally, deleted a few, the one I replied to and what Mace said I thought was in keeping with the topic and was referring to the difference between the original and the retro release someone was referring to, the off topic then followed on.
  13. can you expand this?
  14. off topic posts removed and some off topic quotes as well, wil come back to this later. Try and keep it on topic and leave the shopping and what you are having for your tea to FB Community Chat
  15. there's no wonder people are turning to boots and retro remakes of records when lunatics pay this kind of money for something that I would dare bet 98% of collectors or dealers would rate at less than half, half at most the price this one fetched. Why should we be glad when records are fetching daft sums of money. No where else other than JM would you get this kind of price? Why is this? Next thing every dealer begins to take these prices as the guide and record collecting will soon be a pastime for those with more money than sense.
  16. Spot on pal, would they be saying the same if Tom Jones or Duddy did a version? I want the real thing. Its a tough one to find but not impossible, me thinks this crazy price will bring a few out of the woodwork. Who was bidding, two or a few? Must have more money than sense some. I bet if one went through ebay this week it wouldn't fetch half what it got on JM's.
  17. Thought it was Guy?
  18. didn't Martin Meyler from Crewe find this/give it to Guy to play?
  19. Think the last one I saw was £100 quid, might be wrong. Sure seen a couple in recent months. Different Highland to the West Coast outfit.
  20. another great informative story Rob.
  21. what has the age of the recording artist got to do with children in all-nighters?
  22. a lot of night clubs are 21 plus only....
  23. I think it was 25 and the count was split between three dealers if I remember rightly. Plus the odd copy or two that was already in collections etc. So still a very rare record when everything considered. Would be very surprised if this didn't sell for in the region of £2k plus, especially when you see the price paid for some records that are no where near as rare.
  24. I don't remember the boot being about when the little clutch turned up but I heard the record everywhere back then and I went up and down the country Friday and Saturday then, every copy of those that did turn up in the hands of the popular dj's of the day and some up and coming so ity was played everywhere practically.
