  1. no mate, I'm talking about two issues (I think they are issues).
  2. One of the rarest on the label Tommy Tate - What's The Use/Ordinarily. Know of just two copies this side of the pond. Great record it is too.
  3. your reply was nothing to do with discussing the topic in question, it was you telling Tee to give you a squeeze, dunno how many times you need telling to knock these type of replies on the head. There was no need whatsoever to reply the way you did. If it had been about the further meirts of the record or something pertinent to the topic then that would be fine. The type of response you came back with will not be tolerated anymore, there are other places (namely freebasing) for the type of inane chit chat you keep responding with. You had better take in what has been said to you personally on several occasions and to the site as a whole very quickly.
  4. It is fantastic, listened to it three times this weekend, great for chilling out after a nighter or any other time for that matter The Paramount Four is fantastic, although not a dancer so maybe not appreciated as much by everyone it is up there with the one being played out by some dj's (when is that gonna be appearing on cd Ady?). Jackie Lee and Delores Hall, forgot how good this is Little Ann, subtle arrangement by Dave Hamilton that lets Little Ann's voice shine through showing all the emotion and soul of the girl, perfect soul ballad. There's the odd unissued gem and plenty of forgotten or often over looked sides and the cd is a must for everyone!! As you would expect there is a comprehensive booklet, 4,000 word essay in total giving the complete run down on the artist and the track in question
  5. some of the versions are no better than what is already out there. Some tracks such as the opening one, The Blackberries - Kidnapped is simply terrible. It wasn't my copy and on hearing it I can't see me buying one.
  6. who by? I don't remember hearing it there but then again I can't remember breakfast some days
  7. just giving this a bump. been up a couple of days or so and some either not read it or simply not getting the message!
  8. I thought it was on general release now Tone. I wasn't expecting wall to wall stompers but I was expecting better than what I've heard. I've got the other three and they were all good but this one a big disappointment to be honest. The Motown stars are there, polished as ever, harmonies you would expect but the tracks are pretty poor and average at best, as i said you can see why some were canned.
  9. Anyone actually listened to this package yet? Listened to disc one on the way home from Lifeline this morning and got to say it wasn't very good at all, that's being polite. You can see when you listen why most of these were left in the can, really poor effort and really think they are scraping the bottom of the barrel for some of these tracks now. Couldn't face disc two so put the new Kent Ballads Cd on, class!!!
  10. I think it's a great track Andy, simply, sparce but infectious. Never really got the chance at the time with you retiring to reach it's potential. Cleethorpes I think the first place I heard it but I can't remember the year., could be 2001/2002? Could have been about the same time as Butch started playing Lifesaver???
  11. there is no price, it is unissued. Few copies given to DJ's by Rob. Others got hold of it as these things happen.
  12. I simply rolled my eyes/shrugged me shoulders and came back to soul source. Probably last time I'll see the page. See you tonight Joan for some of the proper stuff
  13. Andy Dyson I think the first to get a copy from Rob several years ago, about the time Lifeline started or just after and went big on the all-nighter scene. This was after Andy Rix had retired. As well as those mentioned, I have a copy and several others now.
  14. Cheers for those Ian, an enjoyable 30 minutes viewing.
  15. Kae Williams - Our Love Is Dying. Unissued. Would've been Andy Rix spinning it.
  16. what if they do Paul, does everyone have to agree with you. have you seen it? It is all you seem to do on here lately, slag a play or film off and woe behold anyone who doesn't agree with you! Personally I don't have an opinion about this as I haven't seen it, doubt I ever will and really couldn't care less. It won't have any effect on what I do.
  17. you can add an mp3 of a sale item in the sales topic Johnny.
  18. At the last Lifeline one of the dj's played one at minus 8. It was still fast at that.
  19. Most should have read now that there has been some changes to the way the site is moderated. As you will have read I have assumed overall responsibility for the main soul forums, that is All About The Soul, Look At Your Box,, Yesterdays etc. With the changes that have taken place we feel it is now the time to act upon the ever growing quantity of off-topic posts, often by the same few people. These Soul Forums are the focal point of the site attracting people from all over the world with a vast amount of knowledge, a knowledge that most would like to expand. It is felt that the site is being and indeed has been dumbed down to such an extent that people have either stopped using Soul Source or are now simply occasional visitors contributing little or nothing at all. Many knowledgeable members are no longer seen and the off topic and mundane yes/no and list type topics are one of the main reasons. The loss of membership affects the site in several ways which we won't go into. This is fact, with PM's from just yesterday complaining about off-topic and the mundane yes/no topics. Now we have no wish to be a hard line dictator type moderation team, we like a laugh as much as the next person. We want this to be fun but also a place to learn about and discuss soul music and the Rare Soul Scene or whatever other name you wish to apply to it. This has been a concern for some time now, with action taken against some members and a few topics lately where this has come to the surface but still some don't learn. BUT the majority of off-topic has to and will stop. The odd bit of light relief is fine, nothing wrong with a bit of banter but some members feel the need to constantly chip in with off-topic posts and throw away comments and mundane jokes. So please take notice of what is being said, by all means have a laugh but keep everything in context. We know who the main culprits are and they have two options, toe the line or they will be excluded. This is however aimed at everyone and we simply ask your cooperation and help.
  20. Are we gonna see another RCA cd Ady with some more of these unissued gems?
  21. is this the book with scans of Suspicion and the other unissued acetates from the early 80's (or was it late 70's)?
  22. almost, it full title is (Tell Me) Ain't It The Truth. JJ one of the co-writers. No vinyl release.
  23. Wouldn't be so bad Webby if you'd asked some soul related question about the record, not that you simply didn't like it. The question has simply led to too many off topic posts.
  24. It should be in Chat in Freebasing!!
  25. Is the James Barnes on Golden Hit (Free At Last) J.J. Barnes? james barnes - free at last -
