  1. There is a mention of Mike Ragatz and Keith Goins in the Smoke Ring wiki page. >>>>HERE<<<<
  2. What did the Walter B go for? I missed the finish. Any chance of a sound file? the one I have is poor quality. Did get spins at one time over here but has since suffered due in part to its rarity and as you say it is a bit fast
  3. It was definitely on Breakfast TV. The main star was being interviewed. The breakfast presenter said her boyfriend at the time went to the Casino. I would assume if they did one they would have done others.
  4. I've got this albeit on CD, it is fantastic too. Give It Everything another stand out track.
  5. Half a dozen worthwhile tracks out of what 50? Why bother? The ones any good are average at best. Like I said earlier in the topic you can see (well hear) why many were canned. Think it's purely the reason they are either alternative takes or unissued that increases it's appeal. I've listened to it and I don't care if I never hear it again to be honest. It was also a genuine copy, played in the car, despite what Tony thinks, it wasn't from amazon though.
  6. Keb still better than most if not all on this scene when it comes to dancing
  7. just giving this a bump as still looking for either a flyer or an advert from Echoes for the 100 Club October 3rd 1987. Hope someone can oblige.
  8. does anyone have either a flyer or an echoes advert for this night they can scan and either post on this topic or mail me? Would like to know the full line up etc, Guy was the guest for the night.
  9. I can't find my '87 Echoes ads, well not all of them. I'm looking for October 3rd 1987 and an advert for the 100 Club, would be in one of the preceding weeks as well. Also looking for a flyer!
  10. I've just tried to find either an echoes advert or a flyer but to no avail Part 4 shortly.

  12. Three tapes I did with about 4.5hrs of the 3rd October 1987 @ the 100 Club. 100 Club at it's best IMHO. First part to follow, think it is Clarkie Djing with Ady on side 2.
  13. He was a regular visitor to a few soul nights including the Canal Tavern in Thorne in the 80's. He used to have a radio show, on Invictus Radio I think.
  14. doris troy - he's qualified - capitol doris troy - face up to the truth - capitol checkmates - kissing her and crying for you - capitol chubby and the turnpikes - i didn't try - capitol chubby and the turnpikes - i know the inside story - capitol

  16. some photos of Maxine (and the other artists) at the Kent 25th Anniversary gig.... >>>>HERE<<<<
  17. Classic Northern from Maxine.... maxine brown - let me give you my loving - wand
  18. who played the terrible Ral Donner version?
  19. There's three "Huffs" in the group.
  20. I was gonna say one scene is about the music and the other about scooters albeit with a bit of northern in the mix.
  21. I think the first one is in print, the second two aren't. In was more than happy with the R&B Indies despite some missing, some errors, obvious to some but not others. I would assume this will be just as comprehensive despite the omissions and errors stated. You can contact the editor through the site, its the same one he uses to send any mails to me and others.
  22. price guides are just that a guide, they are not gospel. The guide was done before a few hundred surfaced via e-bay, which he apparently knows about. But even if he didn't know maybe a quiet word via Pm would suffice to highlight that he is offering something in pounds what can be had in dollars on ebay?
  23. I would agree with the comments already posted but I dunno if I would have said anything to be honest. I did read it before any comments were made. As said it is opening a can of worms. I do think he was wide of the mark with his valuation. He does state he had expenses but that doesn't come into the price of a record really, we have all taken losses on records we spent a few bob on only for the value to drop as copies surface.
  24. as a general rule I say no comment but in the odd case a comment could be valid. Such cases could be if a price is wide of the mark by a fair bit or someone extracting the urine.
