  1. Couple from me, both known about but not too much by the dance-floor, Grier Borthers - Weeping Baby All the Time - Melody Disc, expect this to go bigger this year. Quinn Golden - Habit Breaker - Esko. I know it's been known about off the LP but got a 45 of this last year as did one or two others so this might have it's day in the sun at some point.
  2. Ey up pal and Happy New Year to you too. Either way it's great, some magic records listed

  6. it's the first downloadable .wmv file I have seen, they are no different to mp3's? They are not allowed as per site rules and will be deleted. Please use refosoul.

  10. Can I ask what are these tips aimed at, listening pleasure, venue spins or both? Many are already well known?
  11. No but it's a great record, both sides. Probably the best suggestion yet.
  12. which label is the sound file I posted?
  13. I agree with you, records like Richard Marks is a bonus, a bloody good bonus but I don't think it gets the recognition that Wally gets even though it is much better, doesn't help that only really Andy Dyson playing it to a wider audience. Plenty of the stuff leaning to the funky side going down well and getting accepted by the dancers but still see plenty clear or thin the floor, probably the more out and out funky stuff.
  14. Richard marks is fookin brilliant, both the Tuska and Shout discs.
  15. Wally CoCo is an average record IMO but it is a great dancer and as said it fills the dance floors every time and that is what rules at the end of the day, the dance floor and the dancers. As for then years too late getting into the deep funk? It probably wasn't deemed good enough back then a lot of this type of stuff but with the 60's drying up or getting less frequent in coming through and DJ's seeking other avenues to compliment their play lists then some of the more funkier stuff simply a natural progression I guess. If the unknown 60's was still around and plentiful then the funkier type records probably wouldn't be given a second listen apart from the real quality.
  16. Thats always happened though hasn't it? Both legally and illegally. Jackie Beavers not really what you would call underplayed either is it? As long as you know what you are paying to listen to there shouldn't be a problem? You can avoid those who live by play anything rule.
  17. I like his description of VG...possibly? VG :Used record, possibly
  18. I've seen good copies too, probably more copies with damage mind.
