  1. King Records is still standing in Cincinnati, it is a bit run down but has the funds to renovate apparently. As it is now..... How they hope it will look
  2. Yeah just the instrumental that is an alternate take, the vocal is the same
  3. Think I have it Mark and if I remember rightly its the released version
  4. 1827 S Michigan Avenue, home of One-Derful/Mar-V-Lus/M-Pac etc
  5. Done some digging. Number 3 Thomas Circle, Washington. In 1968 it was a radical centre, it was previously the home of Shrine Records.
  6. According to google Shrine was the opposite side of the circle, Number 3 Thomas Circle.
  7. 6263 LELAND WAY, LA. CHARTMAKER record label (Servicemen etc) https://goo.gl/maps/TJSVNaHQHNUd1SPh8 Its the Building behind the bush, now a restaurant called Off Vine
  8. 2576 West Pico Blvd, LA, Malynn Enterprises, owner of Highland amongst others. https://goo.gl/maps/ovJJPSp5tFx5WMmb6 Taken Nov 2021, its the blue unit/building
  9. Lot of info in the topic below for Nashville Matrix, URP etc, all on the same street in Nashville. I know not strictly record companies bit they are linked.
  10. "Ain't Gonna Stop" too
  11. Dean's latest show 22nd Nov with special Guest Ian "Frank" Dewhirst
  12. Never seen a 5 Stairsteps 45? A particular 45 or any of their 45s? Is this a serious topic? Million selling 45s, several R&B chart hits and pop as well. A collector diggin' through boxes surely cannot have failed to see one of their 45s, they are mostly pretty common.
  13. Midtown Assembly live now and selling fast https://www.glamprd.com/product/8925606/gap-9321-midtown-assembly-don-t-walk-away
  14. There is definitely another take mate
  15. The Marvellos is f****** brilliant
  16. No definitely a different mix out there, have it somewhere on a cd...not sure if they actually released a different take not so long back
  17. I wasn't having a dig a the post, like you say an enjoyable 10 minutes. I was just saying only one person is rewriting history and he is being pulled up over it and corrcted but as I said he is a bit deluded and full of sh*t. Andy's piece in case anyone missed it.... And Adam White's further blog which sheds more light on those involved in the recording... https://www.adampwhite.com/westgrandblog/2018/7/13/frank-assessment-anew
  18. I get that but history is only being rewritten in the mind of one deluded individual. The truth has been on these pages since Andy Rix wrote it and with more detail added since via the likes of Adam White.
  19. Dave should be able to help @Louise
  20. As the article says about the album, "It’s just pointless". I can't believe this topic is still wasting good cyber space, I thought everything that needed to be said had been said over at least two topics. Yet when news of a quality album that features unissued tracks from some of our musics greats, music that should be more relevant to this forum, it generates zero interest. SWONS indeed.
  21. 5/17/79...the date that is typed on the label of the acetate and also the card sleeve the acetate was housed in. There is absolutely nothing dodgy about it at all. Like you say Chris, none of Levines style in the recording at all. I dare say all the negativity comes from those who didn't get a copy? Sounds nothing like a rock record either as some intimate. Personally I love it and have done from the first time I heard it at least a couple of years ago. Be boring if we all liked the same.
  22. Probably the last time Argentina were on the end of one against Cameroon, Italia 90?
  23. I cannot believe how it has been allowed to get into the game, it wasn't that long ago you never saw it and I've never done in a game and I played centre half for years. How quick was VAR though? I wish the PL VAR was that quick instead of five minutes later. No need to study replay after replay, just tell the referee to make the decision.
  24. Fantastic LP. Have played some of the tracks out and included some in last couple of podcasts I've done. Really well thought out compilation by Alex and Tats. AND 24 euros....some labels are charging that for a 45. A must have IMO.
  25. He wasn't if you read the union session card which is more accurate than unfounded rumours. Arthur Wright or Anthony Tony Matthews were the probable guitarists. Neither was Carol Kay on bass. Much of what she has said has been disproved. Read Adam White's blog for more details, the link was posted by Mike a few posts above in 2019 and the session card is below.
