  1. The vast majority were never on the scene nor still not on the scene....it's definitely sold out and has been a parody for a good few years. It's fast becoming the new Derby & Joan. Most of those going to venues now are the folk we went to nighters to get away from and I still want to get away from the vast majority of them.
  2. Is summat appenin tomorrow
  3. They are also well into their old age, the voice isn't what it is. These bands being discussed are allegedly in their prime if you like and still can't do it. The scene is based on elitism and always has been elitist. Blinkered? Speak for yourself, I, along with others who have commented buy music from the 60s to today, hardly blinkered.
  4. Brian Goucher, one of the finest collectors who knows no boundaries is this weeks special guest with Soul music old and new.
  5. I don’t disagree. But it’s theirs to make a mockery of.
  6. Both these have plenty of history. Bobby 150 give or take. Kenny 400 to 500
  7. Spot on...oh you missed out Divs. Like you say nothing to do with the scene and simply make a mockery of the records they are trying to cover.
  8. I wouldn’t open the curtains if one was playing on the back garden. I’ve seen one who were support for a live act at Radcliffe, may have been The Signatures, they were terrible.
  9. Drumstick is the stamp for The artisan mastering house/studio.

  15. Tis Jerry Cook. Two sided acetate.
  16. Previous topic…there was 63 acetates and I’m sure it was 89
  17. It was 89 first Yarmouth time, maybe 90 but no later. Pretty sure it went to Gary. He had it and sold it to Richard. There are a couple of early 70s takes. Half a dozen or so takes in all. The BHMOM is just on that acetate and I’ve never heard it sung in any take.
  18. There are tow takes of this one if I remember rightly, slightly different openings, this is the one on Robb’s tapes.
  19. I think? This is the one from the above acetate
  20. 1989 around the time of the first Yarmouth weekender If you listen to the one on my website, Dave Withers section, that is the one that first came over on Robb’s tape. The acetate you have pictured is a different vocalist and faster
  21. Yes it is. Richard S owns it now. It came in that batch of 60 odd acetates end of the 80s I think.
  22. Can Allan Coney behave himself long enough to DJ for an hour?
  23. They came from tapes @Robbk sent over to Rod Shard at the beginning of the 80s. Recording eventually leaked out and cuts done, this will no doubt be one. Prophets is what the originals was covered up as.
