  1. That's when the bulk of them turned up wasn't it, very late 80s early 90s?
  2. Too many divs and undesirables, the kinda we went to nighters to get away from. Too many events, more Djs and promoters than punters. No imagination, no idea most them. Still some good events out there, usually the smaller ones.
  3. £1200 last one a couple of years or so ago, Darren Brown, vg- 2/2.5k for a minter? If I never heard again it wouldn’t bother me, has to be one of the most over played records on the so called “upfront” scene
  4. Yep mainly folk just wobbling about, little footwork and they just look like they are going through the motions. I know many are getting on a bit but still…… Those that can still do it seem to be dancing to a different record to what is playing, as Paul says just performing for the camera.
  5. It is every collectors worst nightmare. The years of toil to buy records that rarely or indeed if ever come to market and to have this happen is sickening. I really makes you wonder if Djing and putting yourself out there is really worth it. With more and more coming to the scene and very few with the mentality we have this could become more commonplace. Really feel for Ted and I hope his records are returned. I also hope one of ours gets the scum first before the police. One thing is certain, records like this cannot be brought to market publicly, not without raising suspicion.
  6. The delta number of 100133 puts the press at mid 1976. X denotes the flip.
  7. Done by Soussan before the boot/reissue. The reissue isn’t a monarch press is it? There was a previous topic on here were it was said the monarch one was shelved when the red ones appeared?
  8. East coast and west coast
  9. I went them all despite their being not that many at say Coventry I was limited to what could include with the word count and impossible to include every venue.
  10. The Nelson was on the corner of Stephenson Place and the record shop was opposite, at one time it was called Planet X
  11. Hudson's or the one across the road from the Winding Wheel....would have been the cinema then though.
  12. Arsenal were a bit naive at times, only to be expected with young players. City showed their class and experience. Both sets of players however should be brought to task over the surrounding of the ref and the petulance shown throughout the game.
  13. Phil Beckwith returns to the studio for another dose of the Sound of Soul
  14. For many yes but there are also many who are no better than the UK sellers.
  15. Anywhere between £75 and £150. I'd say realistically somewhere in between. Vg+ is $75 on discogs up to a few hundred for a UK seller (surprise surprise). If it is original, which it looks like from the sleeve (its not the reissue from Be With) it will sell.
  16. I would sooner pay that bit more for postage than pay the extortionate prices many Uk sellers are asking. Let's be honest, it is not just confined to discogs. Ebay is farcical and lists and sales on forums and groups have often laughable prices. I buy most of my records from discogs at what I consider decent prices. If I want a record and look at what is for sale I tend not to look after getting three quarters down a list as that is usually the Uk sellers at massively marked up prices compared to say the yanks.
  17. Ikea do a corner Billy Bookcase..... https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/billy-bookcase-combination-crnr-solution-white-stained-oak-veneer-s39395939/#content
  18. Top Dog & Soultown Soul Clubs Reunion at the original Stafford Top of The World venue. Please note tickets are £25 going forward. The early bird offer finished some weeks ago. All Paypal payments should be made to... chris@newcenturysoul.co.uk Please note that any queries, ticket enquiries or questions then please email to.... cpwaterman@hotmail.com
  19. Well he certainly looks male from his facebook profile
  20. I doubt he owns all the records but what does it matter? Some of the scans used are as said available on the net and again as said not all are vinyl uploads.
  21. I think Klopp is being held back on the spending front by the owners who want to sell. They need a major overhaul of the midfield and a number 9, a centre half as well. Chelsea, well it ws obvious to all they needed a striker, 600 million and still no striker. Newcastle struggling a little at the minute, Arsenal beginning to drop points. Man City will win, Man U look like challenging though.
  22. JM auctioned one, Trouble had one, not sure where either are. How do we know it is a St Louis press? Who said it was pressed there and what was the plant?
  23. Original? Where? Phil Dick sold one in December for £7.5k, well that was the last bid update I saw.
  24. This weeks show, 9th Feb, with the lads from the La Beat Soul Club over the border in Edinburgh, Ross, Gavin and Brian.
