  1. It's a tub thumper of the highest order. Simply pounds along and when the sax break is done you think he is singing the record out but they just kick off again. You need oxygen when finished dancing to this, well I do....saying that I need oxygen after the slowest of dances these days Each to their own but this is what Northern Soul and all-nighters is all about. It's records like this that made you want to travel and still do, it still has that mystique about it, it's still the Del-Larks and still Butch to many who were there at the time.
  2. Thanks, found it and done some editing.
  3. I've just submitted one, simple enough but it isn't showing? Do they need approval before they show? Stafford Story is one I submitted and the main site I run.
  4. Hopefully it will get a DVD release in the future. Link to the official film site https://charlesbradleyfilm.com/index.php
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search?q=charles%20bradley it will no doubt be on youtube or somewhere soon
  6. When did Guy spin it mate? I've been trying to find a sound-file to jog the memory as I can't remember it.
  7. There is a Betty Logan "Lot To Learn b/w Logan Sisters "Flop Mop" on Gaye 6001 out of Atlanta. https://www.georgiasoul.com/gasoul/g-m.html
  8. Gary Spencer had it for years, one of the few biggies he kept wasn't it? It was auctioned by JM a couple of years ago, where it went, didn't Sam buy it?

  10. You can be nasty or negative to me all you like, if you know me you will know I will stand my corner and don't run off anywhere and I've no need to hide behind a made up name like most If you think FB or any other social media platforms is all nice and cosy then you obviously haven't been on there. But as Mike said this should be a topic in site support as it gets in the way of the debate so why you feel the need to carry it on I don't know? Back on topic, I've already said I found the acetates very interesting regardless of the faults of which there are. You would expect to find faults in acetates. Many are rejected because they weren't good enough when compared to the released take, Flirtations, Derek Martin & Willie & The Mighty Magnificent's for example. They aren't up there as the "best find ever" far from it, never once said they were but there is a history in them which makes them an interesting find and goes beyond the insular Northern Soul Scene which is why I guess most aren't interested in them. The find in reality is no different to many finds of other labels that are the subject of interest to this scene and companies like Kent that document them, if it was Ady I would think the reaction would be far different, or at least the interest far greater.

  12. Probably feels it is better to pay the charges than lose on the sale, assuming he or she is losing out?
  13. Free to list at a low start so just outbid the other bidders if they don't achieve what they want. Relisting is simply one or two clicks of the mouse.
  14. Anyone have the list of what Bettye sang right order as well please.
  15. Too right, the north seems to get ignored by many promoters.
  16. You are right mike, probably better off on Facebook, where many already feel they are better off......I wonder why? You should take a look and wonder why so many have left or no longer bother over the years, why so many who aren't English no longer bother or don't even bother to get involved here. Why so many feel other places of social media is the better place to advertise their event. If you think there is no basis in what is being said, not just by me then you really do have a problem. I can handle the reading but it would seem others can't.
  17. I heard the Mello Souls sold on here last year was sold for $17k, not sure how true it is.
  18. I've no need to listen harder Pete, I said I find them interesting and it is good to hear some of the history surrounding these tracks, early alternate takes, guide vocals etc. i never said they were the best find ever, so what if they are singing flat, out of tune or whatever other fault you can find. I still don't understand the negativity of soul source and can fully understand the comments about why many no longer bother.....a bunch of odd codgers as one says on Facebook.
  19. Well I enjoyed listening and love finds like this, all part of the history of the labels and tracks recorded. Don't understand why some simply have to be so negative all the time.
  20. It would be nice if these got a cd release or something like but they will simply disappear which is a shame.
  21. Not all records go through ebay either JD Bryant has sold for more than 10,000 dollars popsike figure (it has sold for that in pounds or thereabouts in the past) although nowhere near the $24k mentioned.
  22. As you say you'll never understand ;)
  23. Yep knew that Simon but cheers anyway.
  24. Ady, do you want the videos I've done on disc? I've loads of photos too.
  25. I always thought we liked what we liked because they were a bit messy and not the polished item many pop records are? For me this is one of the best Northern Records ever! When you are off your tits and the intro, again one of the best intros ever, it's a get out of my way or you will be knocked over dash for the dancefloor. Proper aggro soul. The record has everything an allnighter wants. Intro, lyrics belted out by Silus lost in the zone, great great sax break and then it ramps up once more till the finish. It's up there with the best discoveries ever made on this scene.
