  1. I can do tact and diplomacy Paul but I prefer to get straight to the point.....its the Yorkshire in me I think
  2. She probably covers them as it is an easy pay day and doesn't have the talent and would get nowhere with her own material.
  3. Didn't Ady Potts have one as well.
  4. The way i read it Paul is it is.an issue or demo of the previous one of a kind 45, depending on what the 45 is. There cant be many 45's that is a double sider and has remained a one off since the first ten years of the scene.
  5. John has already said "a one of a kind 45 for 4 decades". That to me says it isn't an acetate or lp track.
  6. I was replying before I'd seen the updated description. The gold vinyl Professionals hasn't been around for 40 years has it? The same for the likes of Suspicion, Magic Touch, neither have they existed as a proper release.
  7. I know thatbut all im saying is how do you define classic, would it be the early days or a modern day classic?
  8. Junior McCants would be a Stafford classic I guess. How old from a scene point of view do they have to be to become a classic?
  9. Not seen or heard anything lately.
  10. I didn't say it wasnt rare, it is one of the rarest but there are rarer, plenty of proper records that are one known copy only as well as acetates. JM says it is the rarest Northern Soul record, if that is the case it would have to be rarer than Junior McCants.
  11. Never will be because you don't hear it out being that rare, no one has it apart from 2, 3 or 4 collectors. But again it isn't the rarest NS record either and an issue doesn't exist as it never got that far in the process.
  12. But it exists on an issue so how can it be the rarest northern soul record?
  13. A second set of George Sharp's contribution to The Stafford Story has just been uploaded. Greqat mix of Classic rarities, Stafford Newies and the odd Stafford classic or two. Over 200 photos inn the site as well now. 14. If a record already exists in another original format, issue or demo, how can it be the rarest northern soul record? If it's the rarest Northern Soul record it has to be a one off, maybe one other known or exist on an acetate.
  15. No he doesn't, not necessarily. He always lists both sides, two great asides or not, so all he has to do is fill in the blanks, or questions marks in this case. As for PS, he was there as far as I know when the first was found by/with Keb.
  16. Who says it is a double sider? John doesn't. He always puts the flip in his auction headings.
  17. Yep there's some right miserable b*stards about isn't there. Even though its good advertising for John it's just a bit of harmless fun.
  18. She was great when she sang it at Cleethorpes, you could tell it was her on the acetate.
  19. I remember you saying Kev that you found it with a load of Date stuff etc.
  20. The "Standing In The Need Of Love", is this the one credited to The Charmaines that went to Jimmy Wensiora then Rob Marriott? If so then it's Sandi Sheldon, she sang it as well at Cleethorpes. Didn't Rob Marriott have the Chris Bartley at one point? As for crossover, nah, it's just a decent 60's soul record. Have a decent recording of it somewhere.
  21. FW never got beyond a limited demo press, half dozen I think.
  22. 5 to 6 isn't there?
  23. Yep Butch has the only copy as far as I know, many said it didn't exist but it definitely does. He also played it at the last lifeline. Little Johnny Hamilton (Keep On Moving) is a one copy only (the original) as well isn't it, again owned by Butch. The rest are later test presses aren't they?
  24. Must have posted same time Pete.
  25. But Sandy Golden isn't the rarest northern soul record is it? Neither is Frank Bloody Wilson before someone feels the need to mention it.
