  1. I have a sound-file of Joe Nathune and Crazy, sure it is different to the youtube clip. Will have to dig it out when I get the chance.
  2. I didn't realise we were playing a game? How old are you? You simply made a statement, one you couldn't corroborate because you weren't there, twice, and I simply corrected you. Not out to score points just get the facts right.
  3. You should check your facts. It was Andy Dyson who was playing it at All nighters, Lifeline etc. Mace sneakily saw who it was the rest is history. It was known about before Andy played it as it came from Butch. Des then got a copy and the rest followed, not many mind. So it was Soulies who introduced it first, if Mace hadn't looked what it was it would have been a lot longer before the mods got to hear it.
  4. Northern soul isn't a genre, it is a scene. Its a mash up of whatever seems to work or have worked at some point in the scenes history
  5. Where would we be without the northern scene introducing tunes like JT Parker to the mod scene Do tell which mod had the foresight to introduce this to the soulies?
  6. Thanks Pete. It is in one of the podcasts for Guy already. Post number 205.
  7. The soundfile I have of Joe Nathune is different I think, think it is from an acetate. It could be the slower version but not sure.
  8. I think most copies surfaced via other sources. Pretty rare but more than four copies. At least two had two copies apiece, maybe 3?
  9. Does it matter who had the second highest bid? You both lost
  10. There's one on popsike from last year Bob and I'm pretty sure there was at least one more
  11. Ok all podcasts have now been moved to its new home, dedicated solely to the Stafford Story. They can be found at https://thestaffordstory.wordpress.com If you look down the left hand side of the page you will see an orange feed speaker type icon and it says atb the side subscribe in a reader. click on that it will then take you to a page that gives you a few options for which to subscribe it with one being iTunes. Subscribe and they should download automatically for you. Happy listening. A page will be added for flyer and other memorabilia and a page just for photographs in time.
  12. One is showing on popsike from last year.
  13. I thought there was three or four having been sold via eBay.
  14. Or maybe many are deserting ebay because of the extra charges and high postage rates, customs charges. I know collectors who have given up with eBay.
  15. I don't think that's a bad price on JM's. Seen it sell for around that a few times. Demand is growing again.
  16. Sellers at the end of the day should factor fees in to the sale price, they shouldn't ask for gift from someone they don't know and you should never send anything via gift if you don't know the seller as you are not covered if anything goes wrong.
  17. If there is money in your paypal account there is no fee I believe. The person paying doesn't pay anything? You pay a fee if no money or not enough in your account. It is getting abused by dealers though to avoid fees but who can blame them. Paypal have you by the gonads really.
  18. The turn over of new records won't happen again like it did but there is no reason to ignore the many 100's of quality record outside the top 500. Many forgotten records from all eras, tastes change and some deemed not good enough back then are just right for today. It is as Byrney says, those who were on the scene and left when Wigan closed come back and only want to hear what they heard whilst they were briefly on the scene and ignore the 30 years since.
  19. Yes but at the time they weren't the top 500...they were new to most of us when we were young.
  20. Otis Jackson and The Compromisers is on C&F and The Captions on Kayham. Not sure if you are aware they are two different recordings Paul of the same recording. The smoother Captions is the one I prefer. Otis Jackson probably better for playing out.
  21. I'm adding the Stafford Story to a blog which can be viewed at https://thestaffordstory.wordpress.com/2013/10/05/4/ The first three podcast are already up. It will take some time to upload the 40 odd podcasts. These can still be viewed on the web site which will be moving to a new host soon as well.
  22. With the Crests... Talmoudge Gough, J.T., Harold Torres Front Center - Johnny Maestro And today...
  23. He was with the crests. He is one of my facebook friends.
  24. Will be seeing him in Leeds tomorrow, can't wait.
