  1. Neither do I, certainly the Chemistry release which is NY.
  2. and some more on the Masterpiece label Mike highlighted.... https://www.discogs.com/label/Masterpiece+Records From what I can see this is a N.Y.C. label though. Check the label for the Chemistry release. Then again the Chemistry one could be totally unrelated to the others.
  3. Here's what it sounds like
  4. Hopefully will be in there for a pint pal.
  5. Amazon, Tim's site.....
  6. The font is the same except for the R. Not difficult to change a letter. P.S. Just read Col's reply.
  7. You spend far too much time on here worrying what other people are doing with their free time when really it's none of your business nor your whinging mate who liked your question ;)
  8. Potholes, European Mods, smack heads and handbags....who gives a f*ck. I'm looking forward to falling down them stairs for a dose of rare soul....see you at the bar if you are going!
  9. I was led to believe Sam was the first with this?
  10. One to order later. Is there a volume two to come? Just wondered as no Jewel Akens My first Lonely Night or I've Arrived.
  11. Excellent read as always Rob.
  12. The comments are very much appreciated and we are happy everyone enjoyed themselves. Lifeline started almost 10 years ago at Sheridans, the same place Soultown started life before Middleton came along and we did offer something a little different and both clubs were a success. Lifeline DJ's were involved with helping make Middleton a success too. Anyway, if you want more of what you heard and danced to on Saturday our next outing is February (we only do 5 nights per year) and we will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary. Hope you can all make it!
  13. It's around £11 internationally signed for though isn't it? You wouldn't want to send anything expensive via standard air? It's just this robbing country that charges import tax isn't it?
  14. Lifeline was great at the weekend, really enjoyed it, great vibe all night. I will be down the 100 Club for the first time in yonks for more of the same hopefully. Hopefully if can get Andy sorted on time will be at he bar in the pub behind, blue whatever it's name is . Will be travelling with Nicola and Ian as well.
  15. You can buy it on iTunes and amazon etc for 79p.
  16. I don't see the point in many instrumentals. Yes there are some good instrumentals out there but many are second rate fodder. I can only think of one where the instrumental is better than the vocal and that is Sidras Theme.
  17. According to the notes the project was started in 1979 and took two years to finish but the lack of finance meant it was never issued.
  18. Insult all you like Phil, water off a ducks back. I don't recommend records to anyone I just post tracks I like, whether anyone else likes them is irrelevant really but if someone does then it's a bonus. I posted several cheap records as that is what the topic is about. I try to participate in a positive way rather than sit back and slag off everything someone does or say.
  19. Since you stopped going to venues new records have turned up, not in large quantities, that will never happen again but several DJ's have records that weren't about whilst you were about. Whether they are to your taste or not is a different matter.
  20. Phil I respect you for what you did. You made sure everything was in order, everything was a good as it could be, the set up was first class. But your negativity isn't doing you any favours, you seem to criticise everything and have nothing good to say about anyones choice of music or opinions. You seem to forget that we don't all share the same taste and want different things from a very diverse scene. I agree with you I wish some more promoters and Dj's would pack it in and let those with the records do the business, the scene is in a mess with more politics than there has ever been....but I can't see anything changing in the near future as new venues are springing up every week. As for cheapies, many of them will be tomorrows biggie as DJ's etc look elsewhere as most of the big tunes are now well known and in many cases flogged to death.
  21. Suspicion was actually the Originals. It came off a tape recorded by Robb K from the Motown vaults and given to Rod Shard who then got it cut for Dave Withers to play at Stafford and other venues of the time. Loads of topics covering this, a quick search should throw the relevant ones up.
  22. I'll have a listen tomorrow.....just sorting me self out for tonight.
  23. Funny I don't hear one in the other, or never noticed any real similarity Outcast is the same as Left Out, same writer, or one of them, just different tempo and lyrics as Marc says. Does have some of the same words in as well I think? Need to listen again.
  24. covers 33 do 8 inch sleeves I think Russ.
  25. I know not everyone did them but drugs were a major part of the scene and I doubt you would have had or still got the scene we have without them. You can't discuss the scene and ignore the other things that went on besides the music, the drugs, the characters, they were all part of the scene. That is why for me it is the best book so far covering the scene through every era with some candid stories from some who were very influential in their time. Some real eye opening stories and some real dark humour as well. 5 out of 5 for me.
