Just been told the sad sad news that Tony Evans has passed away. Tony is/was a regular on the soul scene and those that knew him will know him to be a top lad, always up for a laugh and p*ss take of something or someone. My thoughts and sympathies with his family and friends, he will be missed. R.I.P. Tony.
  2. That's great I'd like to hear the whole record, can't wait till I do but unfortunately I won't get to hear Steve tomorrow. Will there be a listen again? Who was responsible for unearthing this? Ace/Kent or did you get it via other means Sean? Well done to whoever it was.

  4. This is Emory & The Dynamics. By the time they became the Four Dynamics they had a new lead singer.
  5. Certainly heard this very late 80's into the 90's and probably someone like Rod??? I have spoke tapes of Rod's, will check if I remember to see if he raves about it on one? Emory & The Dynamics had also been around since at least the mid 80's, Guy Hennigan cover up (Marvin & The Main Men).
  6. I have face time à nd skype so I'd be up for either as a seller or buyer.
  7. Ernie Freeman spent much of his life in Los Angeles and worked with Rene Hall so I'd say it was an LA recording.
  8. Nu People did the vocal version according to MT.... https://soulfuldetroit.com/archives/1/557.html?1019399514
  9. I found a topic on there were he says there was/is a vocal version, doesn't mention male or female and that he will ask Mike Theodore when he sees him. There is another topic with both answering conversations but no mention of this track yet.
  10. I assumed it was.
  11. Pat Brady at Stafford, he may have played it elsewhere prior, Clifton Hall etc?
  12. It is on pretty regularly Kev on one channel or t'other on the sky network.
  13. Was posted on here about 6 months ago. Still interesting to see again.
  14. It was extremely in demand at one time and it went from a pretty low value of less than a ton to well over 3/400 and more in some cases. I'd agree with the above of 2/250.
  15. The first pressed at RCA pressing plant, they give it a matrix number using there own numbering system. The second pressed elsewhere.

It is from those behind Trainspotting and in a similar vein viewing wise. I enjoyed it.

I was watching the film The Filth last night, at the beginning was Otis Blackwell "It's All Over Me".
  18. It is the legit reissue but it's worth nothing like the original, probably about the same as the boot, maybe bit more.
  19. Do we know who was behind Jerry Williams Calla outing?
  20. A mate did them in the early 90's (would be 90/91) and about half dozen had a date stamp and as you say they are a red/brown when looked through light.
  21. Stick on label (if you can get your nail under the label) is styrene. If it is, which it sounds like then you have the 1973 reissue.

Some here on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-Polylined-White-Paper-Record-Sleeves-pack-of-50-/111257120493?_trksid=p2054897.l4276 Juno Records by the looks of it.... Pack of 50 £8.99 https://www.juno.co.uk/search/?q%5Ball%5D%5B%5D=paper+sleeves&submit-search=SEARCH
  23. The boot is early 90's isn't it? Some we're date stamped, some not, just like the original.
  24. The boot is a boot of the re-issue and according to JM came out in 1973 so would tie in with the re-issue of Jerry Williams at the same time. The original was 1970 wasn't it, Z4KM would indicate it was according to the RCA pressing plant info on Flynny's site. The re-issue 1973 so I would imagine whoever was behind Jerry Williams on Calla getting reissued was maybe behind this? Is the boot a boot of the re-issue?
  25. Some very knowledgeable people answered you elsewhere so a bit insulting to them your reply isn't it? You have what appears to be the reissue if it is styrene with stuck on label. There is no original release with the instrumental flip.
