Listed it twice for Andy D at 400 no takers. Sat in his box which went everywhere for some time. Finally sold it at Radcliffe. Not long after it went on an auction I think for 600 or so.
  2. Great lp. I've been playing the track "Life Won't Be The Same" out and about, superb under the radar track IMO.

The one who finished third was the best of the three IMO, especially with his footwork but then again the world champion is just stupid side show when the best dancers aren't even in it. Those who seem to win seem to think it is more about throwing yourself around the dance floor than it is about the music. They do not even dance or do the moves in rhythm to the record.

the mop of hair,, the girl with the afro? If so it is Mick's daughter.

Mick Fitzpatrick's daughter Lauren. Think she has modelled for levi, fred perry etc. She was runner up to the world champion northern soul dancer.
  6. He was a long time collector but some of them came from Jimmy Wensiora when he sold up.
  7. Here's the tape listing for the tape Chris did me in 96.
  8. Don't think I have either but wouldn't mind a listen.
  9. I doubt anyone knows except those who had them? They are unlikely to spill the beans in case they have more to move on.
  10. I have a tape of Chris's with loads of Groovesville stuff, James Lately, Leo Costa etc.
  11. Pleasure Dave. Both have been quite popular. I have one more of Rob's with a few different bits on so I will transfer and upload. I also have two from Chris with some choice bits on!
  12. As far as I am aware both versions of "Baby Don't You Do It" are the same group just different takes. As far as I know it was credited to the Untied Four as that is who it was assumed to be, wrongly so I was told. I was told it was The Barons Of Soul, it was written by the group or one of its members at the least. Searling and Rushbrooke both had it first now I'm not sure if they had the different takes or one of the same? Rob probably got it from Jimmy Wensiora at a guess...or one of his dodgy cuts?
  13. Will listen to sensible offers.

June Jackson did the arrangement as well. fabulous 45 although a little slow for today.
  15. I'm sure he is or someone who represents him is a member on here?

I agree some have turned up but I have still seen over the years more copies of the Del-Larks, both in collections and for sale. More Bobby Rich will probably turn up, who knows. Right now I think it is worth more than $1500.

I've seen more copies of the Del Larks than Bobby Rich.
  18. I wouldn't wish to stop Ezzie's all-nighter so here is another of Rob's tape from a few years earlier. https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/rob-marriott-tape-from-late-80s/
  19. It is Searling's and Gary Rushbrooke's old Leo Wright and the ElBejays cover up. Actually the Barons of Soul. Came out on the Outta Sight label couple of years ago under wrong name.
  20. Bit of time so thought I'd digitise a tape or two. Here is one from September 1992 that Rob Marriott gave men of his then current biggies. https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/rob-marriott-tape-recording-september-1992/
  21. Looks like an emi disc? Lou Kirton was booted as Lou Curtan on Pad and this used an edited version of the 12 inch so it is probably this on the disc you have.
  22. Gule is the toughest by far, first label.
  23. Never seen a multi coloured one I don't think??? Yellow and black and silver and red as said. Mine is silver and red, also on vinyl and the labels the right way round.

My philosophy now mate and hopefully nearer home. Well why moan about it? Why not just shut up and get on with it, I would imagine everyone knows where they are going, who they are going to listen to and have a damn good idea of what they are going to hear. No one who goes elsewhere is going to bother them and vice versa so why is it a problem to some who constantly moan about what others get up to in their spare time. Oh and Cheltenham is full of day trippers just like Ascot

People seem more bothered about what others are doing, it's getting boring constantly reading about it everywhere. It's not like people who are moaning actually attend the places they are moaning about, if they do then they should change their social habits.
