  1. That looks about the gist of it, log into paym and enter the phone number and details, far quicker and easier. It is an alternative to paypal who like ebay only seem interested in charges.
  2. Thanks for the comments Geoff, appreciated and nice to get a bit of feedback. There's a fair bit amongst this lot still widely unknown and something for DJ's to look through.
  3. I guess it depend which banks are signed up to it?
  4. Not strictly soul related so please feel free to move to FB if you wish Mods? https://www.paym.co.uk/?gclid=COvc47LAzL0CFcHnwgod5kUAZQ Anyone going to be signing up for this, could take a lot of business in the UK away from paypal.
  5. You would struggle to reproduce vinyl, paper and especially the ink to the specs of the 60's original. Most techniques and materials have changed since then, particularly with paper and ink. The return couldn't be justified given the time, effort and expense you would have to put in. Not saying it couldn't be done, just highly unlikely. They would quickly be spotted as well, not a lot get's past collectors and dealers, not for long anyhow.

  7. We never got that far, it was just chats via Skype really at first. I set up a t date to do a proper interview two or three times but something always got in the way over there. Then he was moved. I'm waiting for my initial contact with him to try and sort something for me to do a proper interview and get his story out there. In the mean time here they are and their names......

  10. 32 years ago this month (April 1982) The Stafford all-nighters under the banner of the Top Dog Soul Club opened it’s doors. We celebrate that fact with the 50th podcast in the series that tells that story of the all-nighter through the music. I started these podcasts in 2011 and never for one minute thought I would be hear 50 podcasts later, I originally thought 10, maybe 15 but once I had started I couldn’t stop as I just got more and more information the more I delved into this period of history on the UK Northern Soul Scene. There has been some great, fantastic music, there has like any period in history of the scene some poor ones too but that just makes all the more interesting and it is part of the history. I hope like me you have enjoyed this story so far. Stick with it though as there are still more to come. We celebrate the 50th podcast fittingly with none other than it’s driving force behind the night Dave Thorley. A great selection of across the board tracks. The odd carry over from Yate and Wigan amongst them, and the odd track or two that might be best forgotten some might say. But none the less an interesting and enjoyable selection. P.W. Cannon - The Beating Of My Lonely Heart - Hickory The Star Treks - Gonna Need Magic - Veep The “Q” - That’s The Way - Hound (Richard’s James Lewis & Case Of Time cover up late Wigan, massive at Stafford for Dave) Del-Larks - Job Opening (Part 2) - Queen City Willie & Mighty Magnificent's - Check It Baby - All Platinum (Willie Kendricks) The Nite-Liters - Cherish Every Precious Moment - RCA Three Shades Of Soul - Being In Love - Enjoy James Conwell - Another Sundown In Watts - Guiness Ty Karim - Lighten Up - Romark Hattie Winston - When This Battle Is Over - Unissued Studio Acetate Mel Williams - Sweet Girl Of Mine - Buddah The California Playboys - Trying To Become A Millionaire - Loadstone Ivan Neville - Dance Your Blues Away - Cookie Four Sonics - If It Wasn’t For My Baby - JMC Willie & Mighty Magnificent's - Soulin’ - All Platinum Steve Mallory - Wanted For Love - Garrett Little Henry Lee - Better Use Your Head - Gismo Ral Donner - Mr Misery - Studio Acetate Jimmy Raye - Philly Dog Around The World - KKC Del Reys - Mama Was Right - New Breed The Embers - Where Did I Go Wrong - Atlantic The Servicemen - Are You Angry - Wind Hit SouL Communicators - Those Lonely Nights - Fee Bee The M&M & The Peanuts - The Phillie - Money (Del-Larks) https://www.soulunderground.co.uk/StaffordTOTW/files/a4538a8a8b7765801b0c824a48de28d9-50.html
  11. One of the Servicemen is still alive by the way. I was in touch and he is in a home but they have moved him and US laws won't allow them to tell me where.

  19. Soul Junction for some time have been releasing some quality tracks, mainly unissued 70"²s. Most have featured amongst the playlists of more discerning DJ’s up and down the country and quite rightly so. Last summer we were treated to two unissued tracks from a group called Elbowed Out entitled Taking A Step b/w Girl You got Magic. As the Soul junction website says The group’s mission in life was “to get you up and out of your seat, and then to begin to move your feet” and both sides did exactly that. A mixed race group pout of Seattle, the founding members were lead vocalist Sam Chambliss who also played trumpet. Lead Guitarist Denis Wilcox who also shared lead vocals. Drummer, Clarence Acox, Keyboard player Gaylord Young and a horn section that featured Ray Baldwin, Jabril Radhid and Nick Ceasar. They had all met while studying music at the University of Wasington. Sadly both Gaylord Young and Nick Ceasar are now deceased. Elbowed-Out became regular performers at local area junior high and high school gigs, their repertoire included cover versions of songs made famous by the Blackbyrds, Crusaders and Herbie Hancock amongst others. They eventually graduated on the Seattle club scene, where they featured as the support act for the likes of James Brown, The O’Jays and Tower Of Power. Elbowed-Out later went out on the road securing touring dates across Canada. A connection was made which led to the band performing in the Pacific islands of Singapore, Indonesia and Japan. But after a period of circa Twenty year’s together they eventually disbanded and all went their separate ways. Two more unissued 70"²s tracks are the feature of the latest offering from Soul Junction. The top side featuring the lead vocals of Denis Wilcox is an up-tempo dancer that will surely catch with Dj’s and dancers up and down the country. The flip a nice mid-tempo number with Sam Chambliss taking over on lead vocal. 20. Yep. Ric Tic isn't Motown, it was a rival label.
  21. Do you mean the LP?
  22. There are some good young uns on the scene.....including Calvin some don't seem to have any manners but I guess that is just kids of today but most are doing it the right way, like Calvin, have the right attitude, show respect and in return gain respect and nag away just like I did in an attempt to learn as much as possible. More the merrier.
