  4. You've offered no proof that it is legitimate? How about something to substantiate your claim? I still call it a bootleg but if you want to believe otherwise then that is your perogative, still a boot to everyone else.
  5. The Lp was probably dubbed from cassette tape & 45. Eddie Holland was the only released one and included as it was a biggie for Rob late 80's.
  6. Everyone I know says the orange one is a boot. If it is a legitimate reissue where is the evidence, who did them etc? I usually hear the legitimate argument when trying to justify the playing of one. Boot as far as I am concerned.
  7. Rob and Chris for sure, maybe Dave as well.
  8. It is on The Lp that Rob Marriott put out I think.
  9. It is I think actually the Serenaders. Unissued Jobete/Motown recording, Sidney Barnes, George Kerr, Timothy Wilson. Robb K might know more as it turned up in the 80's, not sure if on the tapes from him that Rod got or via the acetates that went through JM.
  10. I was always hopeful Dave Moore would persuade Deon to come and visit the UK but now its not to be. He has still left us with some wonderul memories through his music. R.I.P. Deon.
  11. There was a 12 with Bobby Joe, Baby Brother and Me on the flip. Doré 1004 I think mid 80's. https://collectorsfrenzy.com/details/400534454913/SUPERBS__get_ready_for_love__DORE__VG_mega_rare_modern_soul
  12. I didn't call anyone? I didn't see anyone arguing the toss either. Was it really?
  13. If you quote me I will reply, what do you expect on a debating forum.......
  14. I don't think anyone has said anyone needs to have 30 years of knowledge to be a DJ? But with knowledge comes certain advantages as you well know and what has a 25 year old got that someone who has been DJing 25 years got except youth? Absolutely nothing. I'm all for a youngster getting sets if they can prove themselves but not simply because they are young. Back in the 80's you certainly had to prove yourself. You had all the top collectors and DJ's who were around in the 70's in your way but then again even they were still pretty young, not sure how you can compare past times with today's scene? I don't see anyone mocking someone because they weren't around in previous eras?
  15. I would have thought everyone has to serve some time. Just by going out and enjoy the nights, building their knowledge and collection. Progress to doing local sets and then spread you wings. You can't expect anyone who has been around a few weeks and not known to walk in to any venue and to start getting DJ sets, I can't think of anyone who would book anyone who hasn't taken their time to get involved both locally and further afield by way of supporting the venues.

  17. I still have a ticket from one of then nights, '87 I think.
  18. Those two were cheap, they sold pretty quick, but then again there is no demand for them when compared to Chuck Jackson or Melba Moore. Having said that I would have thought an average price would be £50 or £60. I wouldn't have thought any were worth more an £80 and there is as far as I know the same quantity of each title.
  19. Buy the Timi Yuro LP (that is what it was first played from) and save yourself £980.
  20. Depends which take you have. Piano intro fairly cheap, piano with strings fair bit more expensive.
  21. f*ck knows where that came from....must be magic?
  22. I'd like to see something along these lines, maybe top 25 though, a one hour spot more or less.
  23. It happens especially with some because they bring their mates along as well, they won't tell you that though. No one should get a free ride simply to boost attendances and profit. Merit and the ability to entertain should be the only factors that get someone a booking and if they can bring something else to the table even better.
  24. There is another quote, "Those who are unaware of history are destined to repeat it."
