  1. The date stamped boot is from the same batch as those not stamped. They simply stamped a date on some, have 25 in my head but not sure. I can ask the lad who did them. Be about 1990 when they were done.
  2. Seems a while since my last mix, don't really get much time at home in front of the computer but here we are with a selection of new, forthcoming and some old selections. Bumper releases from Ace/Kent, The Sly Stone Songbook, More Motown Guys, a Paul Weller compilation. A reissue of the Undisputed Truth Lp and a few Repro releases for good measure. Alex Subinas new LP and the fairest on the Jai Alai imprint. Soul Junctions latest 45, forthcoming from Riker Records, the first two 45s are out now. More tasty releases tom come next month as well, couple things smooth but not yet purchased but will remedy that. Hope you enjoy, a bit of everything in this mix, thanks for listening.
  3. Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul ™ 20th February 2025 8-10pm Every Week with Live Facebook Chat group Every Week, 2 hours of the finest Soul Music.
  4. Personally it's not for me, it's certainly not the best record ever recorded but it is better than some of the crap that masquerades as Northern Soul and far better than most of the funky sh*te we hear these days.
  5. Every thing I read would suggest Phelectron is his actual name? Some articles refer him to being known as Phlecky to his friends?
  6. Just been having a butchers, the art installations is part of the festival too.
  7. Johnnie was born in 1937 and the label named after his brother Ralonzo "Phelectron" Cochran. Johnnie was of course OJ Simpsons lawyer.
  8. Are these the sculpture things? If they are they came over here last year or year before to Chatsworth.
  9. He is a music nut Djs https://longlivevinyl.net/2017/06/01/at-home-with-pat-nevin/
  10. He has posted about it himself on facebook.
  11. I don't think I've heard that side before, if I have I don't recollect. Pretty damn good too, thanks.
  12. He may have been hacked, he can't be cloned and be in Rare Soul Sales though as those who clone would have to join. Ian has been a member for some years and sold and bought over those years with no issues.
  13. DEAN ANDERSON presents THE SOUND OF SOUL™ 13th February 2025 8 -10pm **LIVE CHAT EVERY WEEK** Join us the usual quality music and live chat here on this stream...
  14. There has never been any issues with Ian Burt in the Rare Soul Sales group neither have you contacted any of us admin not complain which I find a bit odd?
  15. The first 5 came from Val Shivley who had bought out the DJ and record shop owner Butterball. They were sold for £200 each. The first to Butch, he was the first I heard play it. Then Carl Fortnum at places like Bradford. The year would be 90/91 I guess. Been a few surface since then. Not as rare as some think but still a rare 45.
  16. Loads about Stafford on my website, stacks of photos and podcasts https://www.soulunderground.co.uk
  17. Bloody hell, what a line up of artists on one comp! Essential.
  18. That maybe so but the Pat Lewis one doesn’t sound like a guide vocal, she sounds exactly like Terri Bryant.
  19. Dean Anderson presents THE SOUND OF SOUL™ 06 February 2025 8 -10pm **LIVE CHAT EVERY WEEK** On the show tonight we are graced with the appearance of Chris Huggins and Andy Etheridge. Making their way from deepest Norfolk these gentlemen are renown for quality tasteful soul music from lets just say more recent times. Whether it is 'Divine Disco', 'Soul' from the 'Kitchen' we are all in for a treat.
  20. He got one of the first 5 if I remember rightly, John Anderson find. Sure Mark will know and maybe comment if hen reads this. From Val Shively????
  21. Just compared Terri and Pat, Pat is definitely Terri to my ears and not Pat Lewis.
  22. 6000 items of correspondence and 1000s of orders, I guess they are a little busy mate.
  23. I placed two orders via discogs and one via the website, received them all in a condition actually better than stated and cheaper than I would have got anywhere else. If you don’t want to ring then that is your prerogative but complaining on here won’t get you an answer.
  24. Maybe I should have said Northern Soul as those who attend venues work in just about every conceivable occupation these days. It is commonplace in advertisements and other promotions.
  25. Teako worked with many acts
