  1. Mock up, acetate only Norma.
  2. Ray Agee "If you're ever gonna love me"
  3. I had a feeling it might have been Tim's. Not heard of one of the others going over seas though, I've heard Kitch play his in recent times. Nice to keep a track though, I've a strong interest in Kell and Highland.
  4. Lyrically it is crap but it is a great dancer.
  5. I have podcasts to do for Chris Plant, jimmy Wensiora, Keith Minshull, I have odds and sods left over from some of the other dj's that will make another. More from Richard hopefully. I have a list of records that I can't attribute to a DJ yet, probably upstairs spins or tape swap stuff from back then....oh and Butch. We reckon there is at least another 25% of Guys stuff that is forgotten right now, other stuff that is forgotten for the other DJ's as well. There is stuff I can't find out what they are nor can the dj's remember plus rarities I can't find sound files for.
  6. Wow, thanks for the comments, they are greatly appreciated and it is good to see these enjoyed by so many IMO. there are plenty of great records out there that are very much still largely unknown to many due to the mentality of Dj's these days, not just the Stafford era but others as well. Hopefully they will have their day again, many ripe for reactivation, many can be bought cheap or at a reasonable price as well.
  7. I've had sound files of both versions for years, dunno why never mentioned, though folk was aware as there are quite a few takes, several acetates and the LP. I had a listen to both and althpugh I'm not fond of the harmonica I think that take gives it a bit more oomph? I do prefer the harmonica less take though although I'm not a lover of the record full stop. what are the deadwax markings? I would assume if at all that is where you tell the differenc?
  8. Thanks Jaco Still a few to go yet as well.
  9. I've just had a count and there are 54 podcasts so far covering the Stafford Story. I reckon there would be around 75 hours worth of listening for you.
  10. Podcasts have now moved to the forum All About The Soul but for anyone unaware I've been telling the story of the Stafford All-nighters via a series of podcasts, Dj by DJ, 53 or 54 have now been completed. The first 50 or so can be found at The last three I have done have feature Guy, Keb and one final one to complete the contribution of them both to the story. 11. I knew of three, Butch, Tim & Kitch. Can't be many more.
  12. Yes mate, Steve Smith had it as well around the same time and sold it to Dave Thorley.
  13. The book and the film is "Has", unrelated but thought I'd share.
  14. Pee Wee, Shuck & Huey - Beside Myself (You're All I've Got). Kell Osborne on Highland, very nice. Is that one of those already known about or another?
  15. I knew he was younger than me, I assumed around 40.
  16. Just read this and was about to share the link. Sad reading
  17. I had forgotten all about this article. R.I.P. Bob, you will be missed by many.
  18. I suggest everyone downloads them from Bob's site, don't know how long they will be there. I could put them on mix cloud when I get an hour or four free, add Bob's notes/biographies to the ones he did notes for.
  19. Hi Roy, agree with what you say.
  20. Skeggy might have been running 15 years but that doesn't give it the right to change its date? It was always earlier than Lifeline, always. We've had the same night Pete for over ten years, why should we move our dates we've had all this time for someone else? Surely it is the other way round? yes we moved venues (we have had 5 now) but what has that got to do with anything? At the end of the day it wasn't us that clashed but Skeggy, they chose our date, a date that was already on the calendar and has been for ten years. As for Burnley we didn't clash with Phil so not sure what you mean there. Again why should an established event move its regular date?
